He was normal Super Saiyan... Holy shit he wqasn't even sure if he could go Super Saiyan in the promo material.

Gohan's regular hairstyle Super Saiyan hairstyle had been always like that ever since the 25th TB.

Furthermore, why would he be a Super Saiyan 2 at that time when he wasn't even sure if he can go regular Super Saiyan ?
