Why are new games ignoring base Teen Gohan?

Did people really think that the Frieza soldiers were highly requested? I think nobody would care if they were scrapped off in the future and only be added as non-playable minions. As for the base Teen Gohan thing, while I don't care if he's in or not, I so would rather have a character that we haven't seen in a while than the base form. I agree that he "canonically" didn't fight in his base, therefore, it wasn't needed.

Though for collection purposes, I do see why some folks are disappointed.

I would care. I like adding context to my versus matches and making littles stories in my head for extra fun. So restricting grunts and bosses to only be usable by the CPU despite being fully functional for human players irritates me. Do note that I'm not saying they need to be in games over other characters, but if they're already in, why not let us use them?

Same for the base form of Gohan being discussed here. He may not have done anything outside of the Bojack movie, but they already have a model created for him. It would have taken almost zero time to give Gohan an extra costume slot, copy and paste the files of one of them, and swap his base head onto the SS form and replace SS2's with SS. It hurts nothing. You allow the people who want him to have said access to it, and the people who didn't, or don't care, have no significant time or resources wasted on his creation to complain about.

All of your post, but especially this part, is all of my This. My fanfic's Gohan is his Cell Games look, and when I have to use Super Saiyan to recreate his Base battles, that's kinda bad. If it takes zero effort, just put it in. I personally find it very hard to understand not wanting a Base form of a character in. You know, where their potential Super Saiyan forms rest?

Seriously, it would take no time to put him in. I feel like if Bojack would have been in the game, they would give Teen Gohan a Goku costume and base form up to SSJ2 in all his costumes, guess we'll either have to wait for a free update or mods (and I hate to say this) that do this.

Gohan was only SSj and SSj2 during the Cell games, so having his base form would be pointless. It's like having Piccolo Buu when Super Buu was only in that form for a very short moment.

Well by this logic, shouldn't Base Adolescent (Adult) Gohan not be in the games either? He didn't fight or do anything substantial.

Loads of filler showed him, and that one Broly movie happened and he got a pretty sick fight there

Filler showed Base Teen Gohan and had him do quite a bit in the Bojack movie too.

Filler showed Base Teen Gohan and had him do quite a bit in the Bojack movie too.

Some games just make ''Teen'' Gohan a bit smaller and his hair a bit shorter, maybe to represent the Android Saga Gohan with long hair in his base form more than the Cell Games Gohan.

I was confused by it initially myself, but honestly, it does make sense, given that he's only seen in his base form at the end of the arc. I mean, it's nice to have some variety with the same old black hair -> SSJ -> SSJ2 format. He's SSJ, and goes SSJ2 from there--just like the series.

They are doing it with a lot of characters, If I'm not mistaken Cell's 2nd form was kicked from Xenoverse 2. I don't know why they are doing it but I hate it.
