This isn't merely odd. What person doesn't show affection to someone they've slept with?

The person that only married her because he thought wedding was a food? Goku's not normal. People need to deal with it. Nothing has ever been stated that he kissed her, so the only thing stopping this from making sense is your previous notions on how relationships should operate.

Personally I take it just as an off the cuff joke about Goku's lack of sexuality, rather than anything serious. I mean, while it's true that technically speaking it's entirely possible Goku and Chi Chi conceived two kids without actually kissing...it just feels a bit odd to think about that having been the case. Besides, it adds just as many questions about Chi Chi as it does Goku, really.

I don't really think it's meant to be a sleight against Goku's marriage in comparison to Vegeta's though. Sometimes a joke is just a joke.

I think it's a little bit of both. But I can kind of see it as a little reasonable, though. I've never seen Goku as a romantic type, and I think as a whole, saiyans weren't either.

People just needs to stop treating this as a joke. Those lines shows how Gokū's relationship and I surely think that his mannerliness as a child was one of the causes.

But...it is a joke. I can't see how anyone could think of it as anything but. Whether it's actually funny or not is up for debate of course (ie this very thread), but I don't know how anyone could take it as not having been meant to illicit a reaction of 'Oh, that Goku!'.

How do you know that Goku and Chichi kissed? What is your source? Or are you just making stuff up?

It was a misunderstanding on both sides. Goku thought Vegeta was talking about feeding a Senzu, and Vegeta thought Goku meant kissing

I found it funny that Vegeta waited until after Gokû left for Kame House to announce he was going back into the RoSaT alone. Like he wanted to make sure Gokû wouldn't try to follow in after him.

I was convinced the fact that Vegeta continued inquiring about Gokû and food-kissing was going to be a setup for a joke where he'd have to do it to Gokû later in the arc.

No, but at least be consistent. If Goku is asexual, then no kissing makes sense. If he has slept with his wife, the idea that he's NEVER kissed her goes too far for the sake of a joke. It makes it less funny because it doesn't feel real even within the realm of the fictional world. Even in the world as out there as the one Toriyama created, Goku not kissing, but procreating is too far for the sake of a joke.
