The ritual only unleashed one's potential, something you can do yourself just by training like Vegeta and Goku. The ritual is just an easy shortcut and the reason why Gohan had such a major jump is because Gohan slacked off for seven years on top of having a lot potential. The results won't be anywhere near as dramatic for anyone else, except for maybe Goten and Trunks.
You haven't got what I mean. It was about no needing to transform into Super Saiyan
All Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan is just normal ki mixed with god ki, which is my point. Gohan wouldn't be special mixing his Ultimate form or whatever with it. In fact, he would be inferior since Goku and Vegeta's normal Super Saiyan forms are vastly superior to Gohan's Ultimate form at the moment.
Goku and Vegeta don't need the ritual since their base are stronger than Gohan has even been and it's only a guess if Goten and Trunks would nearly be as strong. Even then, them not using Super Saiyan would just make them more energy efficient.
Just? This is a huge reason to do it.
But well Toriyama doesn't care and TOEI wants to sell cool looking golde, red, rose and blue hair
If they are smart enough, they will give something new to Gohan.
Blue wasn't well received as they hoped for, and that Mystic thing is now outclassed.
A cyan haired Gohan isn't that shock you will expect from a rentree.
Could be nice to see something different that Gohan developed in his sparetime or on the fly.
In Future Trunks style, but hopefully more rational.
And new toys to sell.
I learned english listening to songs. So I don't know anything about. The day you had to learn play piano by just listening .mp3, you'll understand.
Gohan will show how much it sucks to not be Goku or Vegeta.
All kidding aside, I'd bet everything I own on Gohan getting SSJB by the time the tournament begins. It's too easy of a money spinner storyline opportunity to pass up.

I defer you to viewing my avatar for any and all answers to what will happen to Gohan from this day to the end of days.
When someone tells you, "Don't present your opinion as fact," what they're actually saying is, "Don't present your opinion with any conviction. Because I don't like your opinion, and I want to be able to dismiss it as easily as possible." Don't fall for it.
How the Black Arc Should End (by Lightbing!):
Spoiler:
Absolute Zamasu(my name for their fusion) wins. He fulfils his utopia and dwells in his loneliness(x amount of time for this to happen). He starts to doubt of his achievements, Goku's body influences him to seek out challenges but there's nothing. Perfection becomes a curse. Absolute Zamasu starts to dread his existence and presents himself to the Omni-King, detailing on his actions.
Using his powers the Omni-King restores everything to the moment before Goku and Vegeta perish, humanity's last barrier. Zamasu concedes. He ask for forgiveness(mainly to Goku, Gowasu and Trunks) and understands that his justice isn't justice at all. He asks for judgement and the Omni-King delivers.
Trunks is forced never to travel in time ever again, all the time-machines are destroyed.

There wasn't any poll, but from what I perceived online, no one seems so excited by the idea (in fact was just a recolor).
There's no hate about, but I never seen anyone in years telling "SSBlue is sooo cool!".
A colder reaction, that's all.

Let's put it this way, Toei had Vegito go Super Saiyan Blue for 15 minutes of screentime....only so they can sell toys and videogames with SSJB Vegito until the end of time.
Anyone who thinks they're not going to promote SSJB with yet another character, and Gohan is the only choice now, is kidding themselves.

If we go by what people say online, no one reads Twilight or watched those live action Transformers movies.

If Vegetto was Toriyama's idea, Vegetto wasn't around just to sell toys, especially they don't need to have Blue Vegetto to make toys for him like Super Saiyan 3 Vegeta.

Thats why I feel he will get the same transformation Trunks had, and at the same time maybe we will get an explanation of how both Gohan and Trunks achieved it

Yeah I expect at least 20 bare minimum ways to embarrass himself. Hell I already see they do another quiz...but this time it's based on fighting ideals, So Gohan fails the quiz and doesn't even fight. Or he's killed off in round 1.
Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!
Spoiler:
Doctor. wrote:I've explained before, I'll just paraphrase myself.
Power levels establish tension and drama. People who care about them (well, people who care about them in a narrative) don't care about the big numbers or the fancy explosions. If you have character A who's so much above character B, who's the main character, you're gonna be left wondering how in the hell character B, the character we're supposed to care and root for, is going to escape the situation or overcome the odds. It makes us emotionally invested.
If character B doesn't escape the situation in a believable way that's consistent with previous events, then that emotional investment is gone. It was pointless tension, pointless drama made just to suck in the viewer. It has no critical value whatsoever. The audience is left believing that the author can just create whatever scenarios he wants and what happens to the characters is decided by whatever the author wants to happen, regardless of the events that happened in the story. Which, in fairness, is what happens, but the audience wants to be fooled. The audience wants to know that the world they're following has rules. That the world they're invested in isn't going to bend to external factors that are irrelevant to them.
An author can do whatever he wants with the characters, that's not false. But the author should also have the responsibility to make sure it fits in cohesively with the other events in the narrative he has created.
Okay...so does anybody actually LIKE Gohan anymore? It just gets tiring to hear the exact same negative criticisms about his character or speculation every time he's mentioned. The one fact we actually know is that this show is far from over and you can't really say anything about the future development of a character until it's actually happened/not happened. So beating people down for hoping their favorite character gets a chance to return to form seems unfair. Dragon Ball has so many characters that it isn't really that easy to include everyone in a story with a big role anymore.
From the way I have seen it, there has been some hints here and there throughout the series so far to bring Gohan back around as a fighter and make him important again. The fact that we live in a time where we can watch a new episode of a Japanese Anime the day it is broadcast and then jump on the internet and comment about it kind of changes the way these characters and storylines are being perceived, i think. When I grew up with DBZ it was the days of Toonami watching a new episode every day at 5 o'clock for 5 days a week (which even waiting for the next episode was agony!), which changes the way you're viewing the show when there isn't as much time in between the next installment to mull over what you just saw. At the time DBZ was airing in the US it was already finished in Japan so if you wanted you could look up Dragonball on the internet and read about the entire series/characters/stories and see it in its complete scope. Going into Super, we've all seen DBZ and have already formed our opinions of it and are expecting this totally new (in every sense of the word, it's 2016, 20 years after the original, of course it's not the same) to live up to a series that we saw and experienced from end to end. We're 70 episodes into Super, I can't tell you that Gohan's character development is horrible or that he'll never become relevant again because I haven't seen the very last ending episode of Super, so I'll wait to make my judgments on that.
I'm not saying that you shouldn't have an opinion about the writing, development, or characterizations, I'm just saying i don't agree with people making claims about a show that they aren't writing/producing in a way that makes it sound like they know the inner workings of Toriyama and the writers at Toei's minds.
That being said, who actually IS excited about Gohan making a return?
