Inconcistencies/retcons in the Future Trunks arc

It's not an inconsistency or retcon, but if you mind well, Zamasu and Black, Merged Zamasu at first, most of the time wait.
Like RPG enemies that wait hero turn to counter attack.
There are moments when it really seems they wait for an attack button to be pressed. Goku and Vegeta talk, heal, discuss, evaluate... and the enemy float doing nothing. For minutes.

That's just DBZ logic. Plus Black and Zamasu's egos are so huge that they think it wouldn't make a difference anyway.

It's anime logic, Heroes will always have time to talk about the important stuff no matter what the villain is doing.

That's true, but the "strange" fact is how, for example, Merged Zamasu stand still open arms, floating mid air, staring at nothing the whole time Goku & co. hide, heal, discuss, and do major retcons XD. He wasn't laughing, shouting,moving... the air stand still... freezed.

Zamasu: Wha- Again!? You can't do that!
Trunks: It says so in the rule book, you have to give us time to discuss important plot points.
Zamasu: I bet the other villains don't have to put up with this bullshit...
Trunks: We're also gonna need time for Goku to convince Father to put on the porta earrings
Zamasu: OH, COME ON!

In conclusion, the Future Trunks arc showed promise but unfortunately is let down by a rushed ending, a few inconsistencies with past lore and some slow paced meaningless content. It is not without its moments though as some great nostalgia driven call backs, amazingly animated sections and two memorable villains save the arc from being a disaster, earning itself a deserved spot alongside other classic arcs in the series history even if it may not be entirely for the right reasons. If you’re a fan make sure to check it out on AnimeLab, Crunchyroll or Daisuke where it is 100% free to watch for everyone.

perfect timing the sites review of the trunks arc is up in the latest podcast!!! Been waiting for this one! Hope my review agrees with some of the dbz communities finest.
