Either way I think what youre failing to grasp (and who could blame you honestly) is what knowledge Black knows due to his time travel shenanigans. You just have to assume he learned of Trunks time travel feats (not necessarily the machine he did it in) at some point.

Black would logically know about Trunks' time travel from his "Tell me everything about Son Goku" moment with Zuno, right? Kind of difficult to provide Goku's life story leaving that incident out.

He wouldn't necessarily know what the time machine looks like or think to remember it as Trunks was escaping.

It could very well br interpreted that this was validation to all his knowledge of Trunks time travel abilities. I think if he was more surprised the line would be more like "...time travel?"

Gowasu tells Goku the Potara create a permanent fusion only when used by Kaioshin. It's consistent with everything we learned about them in the Boo arc.

Obviously a retcon, of course, but consistent enough with previous material to not stand out as a contradiction.
