You may not think it but simple things like spots can be hard to draw, serious, I drew a Cell in school and my friend said 'let me draw the spots in' so I said go on then, and they looked shit! He ruined my picture, Toriyama probably just had to do it his way, on his own, only simple things such as action lines were left for the assistant to do.

Well... he does have Freeza's cells in him so i guess he shouldDrunken Master wrote:Spots = more unique.
For some reason Cell looks more Freeza-like without them.

I like the spots because they make him different then others.
Cuz you're an ocean, you're an ocean, settle down settle down what's the commotion?
I suspect that if Akira Toriyama, or Toei had a band of assistants or a few, they would obviously be urged to be able to imitate eachother's styles, and especially stay true to Akira Toriyama's original work. Akira Toriyama had a close assistant ( I have forgotten his name ) and his art was very similar and sometimes even better in appearance than Toriyama's work.Bejiita wrote:You may not think it but simple things like spots can be hard to draw, serious, I drew a Cell in school and my friend said 'let me draw the spots in' so I said go on then, and they looked shit! Yeah I guess so. After all it can't really be hard to draw spots if your a standard artist at least. And now you mention it I remember a few of his assistants pictures, one of Bardock which I thought Toriyama drew himself.Snail wrote:I suspect that if Akira Toriyama, or Toei had a band of assistants or a few, they would obviously be urged to be able to imitate eachother's styles, and especially stay true to Akira Toriyama's original work.
