The Black Star Dragon Balls are one huge plot hole. You would have to re-write them completely in order for them to work.

I'm going to have to go over your rule and make GT a single arc. That's because I find the first arc and the last one very redundant.

1. There are no dark dragon balls. In fact, they are the dragon balls we know, but they were collected by Dende, because they were accumulating negative energy, being stored in God's Lookout.

2. Instead of asking Goku to be a child, the Pilaf Gang asks to become younger, so, due to a misunderstanding of Shenlong, Pilaf, Mai, Shu and Goku, who was with them, become children.

3. The wish causes the dragon balls to reach the peak of negative energy and spread throughout the universe. The planet where the spheres fell is experiencing natural imbalances because of this.

4. With that, Goku, Uub, Trunks and Pan (who came in hiding) travel to space to look for the dragon balls.

5. Goku needs to get used to his "new" body in order to release the power of Super Saiyan throughout the storyline.

6. Each planet will have an evil dragon generated by the dark energy of the dragon balls, each one more powerful than the last. In addition, the heroes also need to deal with the guilt of putting other planets in danger because of the excessive wishes they made, as well as delve into the specificities and problems of each planet they travel to.

7. Along the way, closer to the climax, Goku will find a way to regain his adult body. Whether it's a magic elixir or something specific to another planet they visit.

8. After defeating all the villains, Shenlong will appear to grant one last wish, which will be to restore the damage caused. From then on, the balls instantly turn to stone.

9. The ending will not be "definitive" like we had in the GT we know, but a simple happy ending to an arc more in line with Daima. I don't think the series needs to put an end to the story, but rather be another adventure for Goku and his friends.
