Yes! Jakks is finally dropping it. :P
While they made a handful of action figures / sculpts that I actually liked, too many of their figures were just crappy. Not to mention that they had a bad habit of repackaging and reusing the same figures and sculpts over and over.

Some of their sculpt reuses were very inappropriate, too. I have a Bardock from them that has a sculpted (but not painted) armband and legband, because they reused Raditz's sculpt.

Not that I think it would actually happen, but I would love to see SOTA do DBZ. Their Street Fighter line is awesome. It combines detailed sculpting with high articulation, like Toybiz's Marvel Legends line. And their sculpts are quite accurate and effective in portraying the style of the source material. They also use alternate heads and hands, which I like.

I'll have to agree with nathantheguitarist, mister yummy. I don't want figures that I can play with, or one's that can be classified as Barbie Dolls. All I really hope for is that the company to pick up the license will make figures very similar to the Super Battle Collection line. Where there is only movement in the shoulder joints and on some occasions the head. Though I'm perfectly fine with the occasional figure that comes with a detactable shirt.

Well, they are toys, aren't they? Toys are for playing with. They should look good, yes, but playing with them is their main function. What's the poinf of having a Goku toy if you can't make him do all of his moves? I'm of the opposite opinion than the above poster. I don't want figures I can't play with.

The removable clothes thing hasn't been done in a long time with action figures, but it works. The old GI Joes had removable clothes. The Mego Star Trek figures are among some of the best action figures ever, and they have removable clothes. But it's not necessare, and it does mess up the consistant look somewhat.

Overall, I'm hoping that Playmates will pick the figures up. They do a very good job, both with figures looking good, and being usable to play with. Their Star Trek figures are a prime example of what an action figure should be.

You can always do stop motion animation with action figures.
If challenge had a taste, you'd be quite delicious.

I'm alittle too old to be actually playing with my figure's, mister yummy (greatest name ever lol); occasionally I'll pose a random loose figure, and stand it on top of something, but other than that, if I want to do any playing, it will be on a ps2.

But when I do that standing up somewhere, I want them to look good. And they don't need to have super articulation if they look good. Take the Vol. 00!! Goku for example. I don't care if all he can do is turn his head and arms, he looks DAMN good just standing there. 8)

Respectable but thats not what most people would want DBZ TOYS for. Especially for the younger crowd.

You're never too old to play with action figures :-P I'm 23, and I commonly do. Granted, most of the time, it's with my 3 year old nephew, but there's still an occasional action figure wrestling match or what not in my private time.

I can understand where you are coming from, mister yummy. I at one time used to play with the Action Figures as well, but I've learned that the more you play with them, let alone take them out of their package the value goes down dramatically. So now I just collect. I don't have any intention of selling them, but just in case I have to, they'll still be worth something.

And no offense to anyone who does buy them to play with. I'm saying what I would like to see to better my collection. That is all.

A complete line of Dragonball Z busts, or statues would make me a very very happy person.

Also, would anyone happen to know where to purchase the Super Battle Collection figures? Thanks in advance.

( Happy Chinese New Years ) :D

DragonBall Z Specialty Store

Wow, out of all the places I used to get mine, that is the only one that still has theirs up. The other sites either completely removed their sections or had SOLD OUT printed acrossed them. So hopefully those aren't all sold out too. If all else fails eBay would be the next best place to go. I got a few of my Super Battle Collection figures from there. Best of luck to you!

Thanks! However, I have one more question =P. How many volumes are there for the Super Battle Collection? Is there a full list anyone can provide, if I remember correctly the boxes themselves have the whole list along with small pictures of each figure on the backside.

There were 44 volumes made. Although Vol. 42 Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta is the last one. There is a Vol. 00 Goku that can be purchased from the link I provided, and then a Movie Collection 3-Pack that is very rare to come by.

Thank you once again. You know, the funny thing is, about five or six years ago, these were all over the place in Chinatown Vancouver. :(

Don't buy SBC figure's from the DBZ Specialty Store!

I bought a Vol. 07 Super Vegeta from those whores and they NEVER SENT IT.

I don't know if anyone else has had better luck, but that's my two cents. :)

(kinda trying to pull the topic back on topic) So by know, we've all seen a good amount of Jakks latest (and apparently last) DBZ figures consisting of stuff like the purposely miscolored Vegeta to the troll-looking Jeice. My question is: when can we expect these stuff to be released? I wouldn't know, since I haven't seen a DBZ figure in the longest time.

Weird, I ordered a vol.00 in December, and received it factory sealed only two weeks after. You should email them about them not sending your toy.

I did. They never responded.

Same with the guy I bought it from off of eBay... he never replied, I never got the figure, eBay didn't respond to my complaints...

It's like some uncontrollable force doesn't want me to have that figure...
