Did you know in the original Terminator backstory, they would have to actually eat? Not for sustenance but to maintain the organic covering, otherwise it' would rot as it would basically be dead flesh.

This was touched somewhat in the scene where the guy asks Arnold if he killed a cat in the room; his flesh was rotting.

That was the joke, that the "Immortal Phoenix" had suddenly died. :D
He supposedly died of food poisoning.

well as of 18 not aging normaly... how can anyone doubt that when she looks the same in the Cell Saga as she does in the Buu saga despite the time jump and everyone else changing in one way or another...? And that in GT, despite the new hairstyle... she also looks exactly the same?

18 was able to give birth, she is still a human with cybernetic parts. It's possible that these parts could make her age slower and live longer, but eventually her flesh and bones would start to decay and she would have to keep adding more robotic parts in order to stay alive, but eventually her brain would decay as well.

Kamesennin lied about the elixir of immortality, but he also said early in Dragonball that he drank from the fountain of youth, which should be distinguished from the elixir. His family obviously is involved with magic (Baba was a frieken witch) so the reason he is alive involves magic and the fountain of youth. lol too bad king piccolo or slug didn't know about that.

The only thing near that is when 17 complains that Gohan wrecked his clothes, the line was something like "I don't have many copies of this outfit left, you know. Our clothes aren't as durable as our bodies.".

Don't forget that Bulma looked the same in Trunks' future and she looked wicked old in the Buu Saga, which obviously happens earlier on the timeline because Trunks is 8 (9?).
I guess the trade-off was an advance in medicine putting off an advance in make-up.

It was in the DBGT TV special A Hero's Legacy, one hundred years after the Bebi Saga.

did it say Roshi specifically, because I thought it just said that the Z fighters had died and Roshi really wasn't an important warrior.

His face is shown in the montage. We're left to assume that when Akira Toriyama said he'd die last, he meant "besides the children."

It said that every who was alive during the Bebi Saga (except for Pan) was now dead, or something to that meaning.

Maybe Roshi and #18 were killed when another strong enemy (Freeza's sister or something) came to Earth for some reason. The Dragon Balls weren't around, so they couldn't wish them back.

But at the end of GT it said something along the lines of "Goku was leaving until he was needed again", or something, so I doubt that anyone would have been able to come and killed anyone. And even if someone did come to kill people and Goku was not allowed to come and help and the enemy was too strong for Vegeta, Trunks, Gohan, Goten and Majuub the enemy would probably have just destroyed the entire planet, or they would have at least enslaved it.

I always felt that 18 would have deactivated herself once Kuririn and Maron died. As for Roshi, who knows what he would have done to get himself killed?

Why wouldn't the dragonballs be around?

Because at the end of GT, Shenlong took them and Goku away.

ok, dont have the japanese version, but the exact quote from the movie is:

"Nearly one hundred years have passed since that day of celebration, and from that group of heros that walked the earth a century ago, only one remains"

Sorry but i don't consider master roshi a great hero, so he COULD still be alive........

Ah, that's right. But they were back by the time of the GT special, right? Was it ever specified exactly when they came back?

About that time, I think. Far too late to revive anyone who'd died, it seems. But I'm pretty sure the idea was that the world was generally peaceful for that period, so...

But when it says "...a time to be with family and friends. Nearly 100 years have passed since that day of celebration, and from that group of heroes tat walked the Earth a century ago, only one remains" it show all of the fighters and their friends and families, including Kame sennin, so it is assumed that he was considered to be part of that "group of heroes" that they mentioned.

*Note: That quote was from the Funi dub.

Depends what her cybernetic parts do to her. Nothing says they only amplify her power. If she's got bits and pieces that keep her healthy and keep her from aging then she's got eternal youth. And considering she looks the same in Trunks' time as she does in the series I'd say they do keep her healthy and young.
Don't forget that Bulma looked the same in Trunks' future and she looked wicked old in the Buu Saga, which obviously happens earlier on the timeline because Trunks is 8 (9?).
What? I think you're confused. In the Buu saga she looks the same as ever but she looks ooooold in Trunks' future.

But you do Pan? I mean, I like her and all, but Roshi fits the title of hero better than her, and she was included in the refrence.

But in the end it doesn't really matter anyway. GT screws up so much I don't care who they say died, it's mostly nonesense. I'm waiting to see what the DBO timeline says about Roshi. And 17 and 18 too, if it has anything for them.

EDIT:
Ah, that's right. But they were back by the time of the GT special, right? Was it ever specified exactly when they came back?
We're only shown the 4-star ball, though. We don't know if they've ALL been brought back, or if Goku just dropped his grandpa's ball back at his grandpa's house.

well, pan did go to outer space to save the world, and pretty much stayed by goku's side to fight even though she was outclassed she still put in the effort. The only time roshi did anything heroic was when he got killed by king piccolo, and i guess when he kamehamehad the red ribbon army. By the time DBZ came around Roshi was too scared to ever even leave his island, instead preferring to find ways to get laid.
but yes i know he was in the montage right before the quote, and i can see why that would imply he is dead, but remember its just implied, and that doesn't have as much weight as an official quote from Toriyama.
