Why bother changing it? Did viz want to make it consistant with the Ocean dub instead of just doing accurate translations?

And that sonds like more of Vegeta's ego, but thats just me.

Would Vegeta's Full Powered Oozaru transformation suffer from the reduction of speed that an Ultra Super Saiya-jin level 2 would suffer from?

I'm not sure, if physics were involved I'd say yes, but since Toriyama wanted him to "win" it didn't aply, or he just didn't think of it yet.

Rocketman mentioned this, but it seems they wanted to make fun of the dub at the time, which implied that Oozaru Vegeta was the one who killed Grandpa Gohan. But yeah, it was kind of an odd thing for them to do. It's also probably one of their biggest dialog changes, since they're generally fairly accurate with their translations.

I don't know, he seems pretty spry. He dodged Kuririn's Kienzan easily enough, and jumped very high as he did.

He could move faster than Goku using a Kaiô-Ken speed boost. I always liked that part in the third Dragon Ball Z movie when Ôzaru Gohan is chasing Goku. He just... leaps like a mile, right over Goku. It was just neat looking to see that kind of speed.

Seen here.

I'd prefer watching it with the current cast, but it's still a good scene.

I figure since the Oozaru is an actual transformation and not just piling on extra musscle mass like the SSJU forms it's just as natural for them to move as it is for anyone else.

It doesn't help at all. Their raw power alone is never enough to win a fair fight.

You can't expect kaiju sized apes to be very fast, it would screw up the game's balance.

The Oozaru in the Sparking series are like over sized "Super Trunks'". A terrible combination.

That is why Freeza whiped out the saiyans. He could easily control a handful of them, even in oozaru form, but a large team or worse yet, an Army of them on a full moon would be damn near impossible. Dodoria, Zarbon and Freeza even banter about this before Freeza decides to kill them all off. Zarbon even says to Dodoria something along the lines of this: "Suppose a group of standouts, like this Bardock character teamed up with someone like Vegeta and you faced them on a full moon." Freeza then says that only a fool would welcome such a scenario.

As to the Battle powers of the Ginyu Force, Guldo's is weak, and undeterminable, therefore any number given for him is a guess. The rest I will list below:

120,000 Commander Ginyu
40,000 Recoome
40,000 Jeice
40,000 Burter
? Guldo

Now, before anyone tries to tell me the Ginyu force is never scanned or listed in a Daizenshuu, I have a perfectly logical explanation that proves their battle powers from the Manga only. I would not insult you, as fellow fans, to start a battle power argument on stupid assumptions. Any Battle powers I give I can back with facts, otherwise I list them as undeterminable, like Guldo.

Vegeta states upon first sensing the Ginyu's approach, and trying to convince Krillin to help him that they are fighters that are as strong as.. [him] no, a bit stronger. Vegeta was listed as 30,000 in the Daizenshuu for that point in the series, and likely topped at around 38,000 when powering up to fire the Final Flash at Recoome. There is the low point reference.

When Goku arrives and Krillin is watching Goku fight Recoome, Jeice, and Burter, he states that none of them could touch one of these guys, and that they all three had the same battle power. This is the reference to them all three being roughly equal in battle power.

When Jeice returns with Ginyu, and Ginyu is assessing the situation, he states that for Goku to be able to totally humiliate Recoome, Jeice and Burter like that without being touched he must have a Battle Power of 60,000. This is another reference point. They must be significantly lower than this if Ginyu thinks it would only take 60,000 to humilate them.

Finally, Guru senses their power and sends Nail to help with the fight saying he is the only one that stands a chance of beating the Ginyu Force. We know Nail instead returns regretfully because he senses Freeza approaching, but Nail is later scanned by Freeza and shown to be 42,000 max.

Using all of these points in the Manga we know the following:

-They are close to, but above Vegeta in power (who was himself at a base power of 30,000, max at 38,000 when focusing energy for an attack)

-Krillin senses all three of them to be roughly the same in battle power

-Ginyu estimates that 60,000 would be more than enough to completely humilate them

-Nail supposedly could beat them in a fight

40,000 is your magic Number for those three. Give or take a few hundred, but the numbers were mostly rounded into the tens of thousands at that point in listings anyway. Close to, but stronger than Vegeta's 38,000 (Which explains Vegeta being able to at least blow off Recoome's Armor and some of his hair) Within the scope of being beaten by Ginyu's Estimate of 60,000, and less than Nail's 42,000 by enough that he could probably win against any one of them.

I explain this out in full only to show that I give serious, logical thought and Manga evidence to support any Battle Power that I use for reference. My opinion stays out of it. It's pure logic and Math for me. If you "feel' otherwise, that is fine. I will not argue with you, but for an accurate reference point based on what is provided in the Manga, here you go to whomever it was that asked for their battle powers earlier in this topic.

Zarbon doesn't say anything about the Saiyans going Oozaru in the original dialog, he just says it will be bad if they Saiyans were to team up. He also doesn't mention Barduck by name, or speculate about him or someone like him teaming up with Vegeta, but rather just wonders what would happen if another person like Vegeta were to appear. Freeza says "You think they might become unpleasant?", making it a bit ambiguous as to how much he agrees with Zarbon at this point.

He definitely couldn't beat Commander Ginyu himself.

Nappa's Battle Power was somewhere around 8000, based on his fight with Goku, so as a Great Ape, he'd be around 80,000 max.

And Ginyu was stated to be at 120,000 which still outclasses anything Nappa could dish out as an Ape.

How do you find out the power of Saiya-jin in their Oozaru form? Is there a formula or is that power level listed in one of the guides?

It's said that a Saiyan's power multiplies by 10 when they transform, by Vegeta.

I love that we were just talking about this like yesterday.

I like to imagine that when you do this, it's like Piccolo diving in at the last minute and saving Gohan's bacon.

Yeah, it's stated in the manga, too, so there's really no reason to deny it.
