I just learned something about A character that I've been fanfic-ing for 8 years.
(damn, I'm typing really f**king slowly so my letters don't die. )

Tenshinhan's ancestors, thing, right? It's so random. It makes me wonder if there was a Weekly Jump bonus gag-panel explaining he was an alien.

Maybe they were Sanjiyan. Might explain why the guy doesn't seem to age.

Whenever I watched 3x3 Eyes, I always thought that it was kind of cool that Sanjiyan and Saiyajin were such similar sounding terms. I'm glad I wasn't the only one. XD

Tappu-seijin are the people that King Vegeta promised to Freeza in the bit about the Saiyans' past in episode 78 (something to the lines of Battle Power 1 Million?!").

I've always wanted a deeper look into the mutant race that the Ginyu Special Force come from. I assume that they weren't the onmly mutants that were...created, but even if they were it'd be nice to know a little nit more about them.

It's most likely that they're all merely naturally occuring mutations of individual races (ie: freaks of nature) and not a race of mutants.

However, now that I just re-read your post, I wonder if maybe the mutants are creations of Freeza's scientists. Like, say, of Avo and Kado's creation?

Waitasec... Does that mean the elite aliens King Vegeta and his entourage (Nappa, kid Vegeta, and 2-3 other Saiyans) wiped out in a flashback were or could have been the Tappu?

That's what I was thinking, and I doubt that the first five creations all happened to be that strong. There must have been more, but I'm sure that all of the failed "experiments" were killed/destroyed soon after. It's just another thing about Freeza's empire that deserves a proper side story.

Sadly, Herms pointed out in the other thread that the original term was "natural mutation" and not "mutant." Poo.

Bas-Jin - Guldo's race.
Hemadein - Kiwi's race (I think these one is as much canon as "changeling").
Rito - The kids from the invisible spaceship Bulma, Gohan and Krilin bumped into.
Yadrats - Everyone knows who these are.
Metamories - Fusion dance guys.
Momasu-Jins - Giant dude from GT.
Kelbo-Jins - From Zoonamas Planet
Lood-Jins - I think everyone knows who these are as well.
Arconia-Jins - The Saiyans original client.

The Tabbu are an unseen race mentioned in the filler scene in which King Vegeta and the Elite Saiyans gets killed off. A Saiyan is explaining to the King that they failed to conquer the planet because of something to do with Freeza's goons. After Vegeta kills him for failing to conquer the planet, Freeza walks in and pretty much taunts King Vegeta. That ends up being the final straw (I'm guessing King Vegeta wanted the planet for the Saiyan Empire), as they then decide to revolt against Freeza.

This one is actually the same as the people of Planet Litt. "Rito" is just an alternate romanization. Like I said before, they're the small race who the battle jackets that Gohan and Kuririn wear on Planet Namek were made for, and they're shown in the anime being wiped out by Vegeta during the Garlic Jr. filler arc. However, Greg Werner in his complete character guide mistakenly identified them as the race of the space orphans, and from there this spread throughout the internet.

(You know, it seems ever time I mention Greg Werner, it's to mention some mistake he made back in the day. I should say that his site was and still is one of the most accurate and comprehensive DragonBall information sites on the internet)

Lood-Jins - I think everyone knows who these are as well.

Was that the actual name of the planet? I thought it was just the name of the church and the guy they worshipped.

Arconia-Jins - The Saiyans original client.

I think this one was either completely made up or only in the dub.

I don't know, sorry. It's possible it isn't even derived from anything. Toriyama said in Forever's name pun guide that with Polunga, Popo, and a few other names that he just made them up, so there aren't always puns for every name.

Here's something interesting I just found on the Japanese Wikipedia: Raudo-seijin. These are the aliens who appear in Neko Majin ga Iru 2, and they also appear in Awawa-world and Dr. Slump. Their name comes from Awawa-world, where they first appeared. Toriyama has apparently said that Awawa-world is set in the same world as Dr. Slump. Anyway, considering how much the character Grey from the new anime special resembles these guys, it's tempting to say that she's a Raudo-seijin herself, and that Planet Raudo is where Table was banished to.

They're in "Dr. Mashirito Abale-chan", a one-shot continuation of Dr. Slump drawn by Toriyama in 2007 to go along with the release of the Dr. Slump box set.

So that's the last time (prior to the new Jump DBZ special) that they made an appearance. I wonder if their tons of cameos these last few years are easter eggs for his fanclub; apparently AWAWA WORLD is also the name of his official fanclub. As Awawa-world was unpublished, probably only members of the fanclub have ever read it.

That's the DB/Kochi-Kame crossover that was made a few years back in celebration of Kochi-Kame's nine millionth anniversary.

I'm rather skeptical of that page. What source does it give for saying that everything is X number of years after Dr. Slump, or that they're regarded as being in the same continuity?
