I want to see photos of your trip!
Have you got to wait very long until you depart?

Ah Nakano, good times. While the upper floors do have some questionable stuff, they are also where all of the anime cel stores are located. A few of them carry Dragonball/Z/GT cels. You may have to ask them to check the back too, but since they are very disorganized it varies if the employee comes out with results. One day they brought me a single cell of Vegeta from the saiyan saga (not that great), and then the next day (different employee) they brought out this:Herms wrote:Mandarake in Nakano is sort of the opposite in that it's all located in the upper levels of the shopping complex, so the higher levels are where you'd want to avoid (the basement there is just a supermarket, though they also have a psychic telephone business, which they'll chase you away from if you get too close). The fetish stuff is mostly on the second highest floor, if I remember right, and the uppermost floor is filled with occult/UFO stuff, including two life-size alien grey statues mounted into the wall.Aremke wrote:The one tip I discovered the hard way for avoiding such creepy sections of stores in Tokyo is this: Don't go into the basement. More often then not, that's where the fetish stuff is. Brave souls can endeavor to explore for fear of missing that one cool relatively innocent section that might have that elusive figure you've been searching for, but more often than not, it's gonna be really creepy.

and that was only $50!
If I think of anything else, I'll add it.

No, you're thinking of the Osamu Tezuka museum in Takarazuka, Hyouga. The Kyoto International Manga Museum is unrelated.Smindas wrote:Yep, located in Kyoto due to that being the home city of the Astro Boy creator, I believe. Quite a fun visit to do if you have the chance.
Kanzenshuu: Is that place still around?

I still need to go there, despite having been to Mitaka repeatedly. I'll admit though that I was disappointed when I saw that the bus to the Ghibli Museum was not in fact a giant, 6-legged cat.

If you want to buy appliances/DVD/Doujinshi, you should go to Akihabara, and Jimbo-chou for books.
If you want to meet me(no one wants I guess), come to Kichijouji.

I'm living near that museum but I've never been there.Super Ghost Kamikaze wrote:In an off-Dragonball topic, the Ghibli museum is just FANTASTIC.

That's where one of my aunts, a nun, lives. I'm over in Koganei myself.kei17 wrote:If you want to meet me(no one wants I guess), come to Kichijouji.:)

Ack, my mistake then. The Kyoto International Manga Museum is where I visited however, I'm not entirely sure how I jumped to the Osamu Tezuka relation though. Probably that Astro Boy statue outside Kyoto station.Herms wrote:No, you're thinking of the Osamu Tezuka museum in Takarazuka, Hyouga.
