I have pondered this for awhile. Perhaps a combination of the Cell and Red Ribbon arcs? 17 and 18 are created to find the Dragon Balls, and find Goku in the process. Shit goes down, it's revealed that Cell is Gero's secret weapon for world domination and to overthrow Red, Cell says "fuck you" tears apart RR, and then we get to the meat of the Cell saga with Android absorptions.
Red Ribbon taken into a semi-real world concept would be simply amazing if done right.
Glad someone else thinks so too. I wasn't sure about adding Cell, but...it definitely could work. He'd have to be toned down, obviously, but most of the characters have been I think. And with only 3 movies, it's not like they'll be going through huge power jumps.
Cell says "fuck you" tears apart RR
Why did I think of Mewtwo?

They don't need the Red Ribbon Army to fuel Gero, just like they don't need the death of Kuririn to fuel Goku or the death of Piccolo Daimao to fuel Ma Junior. They can work some movie-only excuse in there, and I'd be perfectly fine with that sort of thing.
I don't think Goku is going to kill Piccolo. Seeing as this Piccolo seems like a combination of Daimao and Ma Junior, I think he'd live to see the next movie.
Or they could just axe the character of Piccolo after this movie.

I'd be happy with that too I think, but the idea of the Red Ribbon Army in a realistic world is what interests me most. So if anything was dropped, I'd prefer it be Gero and the RRA be what's left in. But that might just be me.

Well, if they did the RRA, it'd probably be more like the Red Ribbon terrorist cell or something like that, since terrorism is fashionable today.
I could see them doing Cell and the Artificial Humans, maybe even in place of Freeza. They could have a situation that mirrors the Cell Games, only instead of Gohan going SSJ2 and owning Cell, it would be Goku first going SSJ and owning Cell instead.

1) James Marsters is signed on for 3 movies and they have no intention of axing Piccolo (James Marsters has said numerous times he's gonna be in sequels if this movie makes enough money).
2) They can kill him and then explain why he's still alive in the sequel. My guess is they are going to add a after-the-credits scene of Piccolo regenerating from the KameHameHa.
If challenge had a taste, you'd be quite delicious.

I'd imagine them more as an evil cooperation rather than terrorists, like OCP from Robocop but less public. But I guess they go hand in hand with terrorists these days.

I would love to see the Red Ribbon Army portrayed like News Corporation.

Hm. Let's have some fun shall we?
The sequel's main group of antagonists will be the Red Ribbon army, with Cell as their secret weapon!!!

No see, they combine the characters of Commander Red with Cell. Cell wants to absorb the Androids to get taller.

As a result, Adjutant Black reveals himself as Vegeta (
omg plot twist!) and shoots him in the head 'yogi bear' style, in an effort for world domination along with his trusty robot Nappa.

So he starts off as a Cell Jr?

... I like my "steal everyone else's ideas and incorporate them into my own" version.

. Which involves Buu appearing in a flashback that (Mirai) Trunks recounts to Yajirobe at the beginning of the final installment, as a means of explaining both Freeza and Namek, the former having kinda ran most of the heroes off of the Earth in the second movie (With Yajirobe staying behind, though I've not got much else down for his overall role... XD).
Ur, wait, what?
Right. Piccolo.
I'm actually kinda expecting his fate to turn out more like the original (Egg Jr and such), though probably for unfounded reasons.

As for how Goku 'kills' him... Kamehameha, probably. Unless Roshi actually defeats him. Actually, I could see that working; the Mafuuba actually working, killing Roshi, sealing Piccolo again, only for him to be released in the sequel once the goodguys need extra firepower (or maybe the baddies would find him, I dunno. Since I kinda doubt the movie is going with my idea on how the Movie Mafuuba should work... XD).
Good grief, I did it again. T_T Sorry everyone.

I think at the end of the 3rd movie it shows Freeza's ship going to Earth. THEN after the credits, Freeza steps onto the Earth and says something about destroying Earth, then we see Trunks appear and say, "Not if I have anything to say about it, asswipe."

And then he lunges at Freeza with a sword.

Who would play Trunks?
You'd need someone naturally brooding and angsty.

My vote goes to Sean Connery.

All this silliness is silly. Let's get serious!
How will Goku kill Piccolo?
Picture it.
The epic fight between the two is drawing to a close. Both are exhausted, weary, bodies hunched over as they force themselves to continue. Despite their different views, a respect for each others fighting ability is being formed. Piccolo even begins to rethink his evil ways, as Mai, still loyal to Piccolo, enters the fight, trying to get between the two and stop this madness, when suddenly--
Low blow from Mai! Piccolo hunches over, Goku slides behind him, hooks the leg and rolls him up! The referee slides into the ring. One! Two! Three! The referee missed the low blow, Goku wins and turns heel! An irate Piccolo has no target as Goku escapes up the aisle with his new cronies, Mai, Shu and Pilaf. The movie fades to black with the commentators damning Goku for selling out and turning his back on the fans.
That is your Dragon Ball Evolution ending.
Or, you know, he uses the Kamehame Ha. I don't see the Oozaru stomach punch happening.

Leonardo Di Caprio, of course.
That, or Zac Efron.

I could see Chad Michael Murray playing Trunks.
Anyway, back on topic:
I don't think Piccolo is going to die in this film, since James Marsters is supposed to have signed on for the other two movies. Unless Marsters-Piccolo spits out an egg that hatches a clone of himself, it will probably end up being that Chatwin-Goku will only think he killed Piccolo only to have him turn up alive in the sequel. So Piccolo's final scene probably won't be too graphic (especially since this film is supposed to be PG).
