Nope, those are legally available.
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
Where? Because I can't find them anywhere, without having to go through some kind of site that buys stuff for me from Japanese sites. I just think that's too complicated...
I'd love to get the physical CD's, but if they aren't available, I guess I would glady accept the legal mp3's.

Hereyou go with Dan Dan, but it looks like the original single is unfortunately out of stock.... no wonder, singles are always low-budget about 500 copies only in average.

Hmm... I love DAN DAN, but I don't know that I would spend upwards of USD $50 to obtain it... oh the pains of being a poor, jobless 17 year old...

I'm well educated professional graphic designer for media and I'm without work for nearly 3 months now, because of big unemploency in my country and also because I graduated this year and they wanna old skilled people, no matter that I have achieved five years of skills in media sector, but I'm young...... You have at least parents who can give some money at least))))

I can't buy things which I want to right now

Is it illegal to make audio files from the TV openings and endings? You own the DVD, so you aren't really stealing, right?

If you don't want to buy all the music, that's a great way. Of course, you'll have to stick with TV-sized versions...
An interviewer asks, "The soundtrack in Sonic 3 has become legendary. Is it true that you worked with Michael Jackson on it?" Takashi Iizuka kills all of our hopes and dreams by replying, "You know, those are just rumors, and SEGA does not want to say anything about them. So they will forever be just rumors..." WHY!?

I would argue a few things. First, if you own the DVD and rip the audio for the opening and closings as mp3s for yourself without distributing any of them online, it's somewhat legal. Technically, the audio is owned by Toei and Funimation, but by ripping it and retaining it, you aren't harming anyone by creating a mass distribution of the audio files.

Second, with respect to the dub opening and endings on the season sets, I believe that it is actually okay to rip and even distribute them. The reason for this is discussed in some detail below.

Finally, regarding ripping and distributing the Japanese versions of the opening and endings, I do not think that this is legal for the same reason that ripping and distributing the dub openings and endings (without profiting from your distribution, obviously) probably would be. It all comes down to commercial availability. In some sense, the Japanese opening and endings are available. Maybe not in their "TV Size" versions, but the songs themselves are available for legal purchase. The BGM, except for the music on the Path to Power CD, is completely unavailable. The same applies to the dub opening and endings, none of which are commercially available in any sense.

In fairness, without doing any in-depth legal research, my background knowledge suggests that technically Funimation (or even Toei) could file a C&D against anyone distributing the BGM or the dub songs, and it would likely succeed in getting a court-ordered injunction. The ultimate fact is that with respect to copyright protection, the Constitution protects these sorts of things, but it is generally the burden of the holder of the copyright to pursue it. The FBI, in other words, is not going to come knocking at your door on its own initiative because you downloaded DBGT music. Funimation could sue for an injunction, but in all likelihood, it won't. This is mostly because there is no reason for getting one. Distributing unavailable BGM files or dub songs is not costing them a cent unless or until they decide to release official CDs for profit, at which time it becomes illegal in the sense that it is likely to be pursued.

I agree with xzero.

Also, Funimation has bigger fish to fry when it comes to this. I'm sure they are more worried about the people distributing full dual audio + subtitle episodes via torrents than people on a Dragon Ball forum distributing BGM music that isn't commercially avaialble.

Dang, the Megaupload link is dead.

Does anyone have a mirror? I'd be willing to mirror the songs too.

Edit: Found a working one here..
