Which is probably why Funi will get the Dragonbox masters to squeeze more cash out of us.Captain Awesome wrote:I honestly think we might see something change with the season sets when they hit Blu-Ray, all those little problems are going to look that much worse blown up to 1080p.
The series doesn't start with the arrival of Raditz. Stop being lazy and watch Dragonball.
If funi does put out a Blu-Ray Dragonbox (Dragon box footage on Blu ray discs in large box sets, like half the show in one box or something) Then I would go out and buy a BLu Ray player just to get them.
Also, Funi needs to re-release Dragonball already, I don't even care if it's just a re-release of the original sets, I have a hole in my dvd's that needs to be filled by an actual release!

How does that mean they will release the series in BD?! I'm not saying that it won't happen, just that there is a good chance that Funi used it as a way of over-hyping the season sets.Captain Awesome wrote:They confirmed that when they told us they were "remastering" it at 1080p.SSj_Rambo wrote:Has Funi confirmed that the season sets will get a Blu-Ray release?

I would also! I'm just hoping we'll get a 100% Japanese BGM track unlike the season sets. In the mean time, I'm just going to enjoy the singles. Now if only I could get those black lines off my 2.35:1 content. I'm thinking of trading in my widescreen TV, for a projector with an anamorphic lens and a 2.40:1 screen, so I can watch everything in OAR.If funi does put out a Blu-Ray Dragonbox (Dragon box footage on Blu ray discs in large box sets, like half the show in one box or something) Then I would go out and buy a BLu Ray player just to get them.

..Because that was the entire point behind the "remaster" so they could keep putting Dragonball out indefinitely.SSj_Rambo wrote: How does that mean they will release the series in BD?! FUNimation wouldn't have paid for the HD "remastering" process if they didn't intend to put it out on Blu-Ray.
That's exactly what I was thinking they were going to do. I was just asking if they had announced it yet or not.Captain Awesome wrote:..Because that was the entire point behind the "remaster" so they could keep putting Dragonball out indefinitely.SSj_Rambo wrote:How does that mean they will release the series in BD?! Even they know the sets will look like dogshit if they are on Bluray.Captain Awesome wrote:..Because that was the entire point behind the "remaster" so they could keep putting Dragonball out indefinitely.SSj_Rambo wrote: How does that mean they will release the series in BD?! Its the primary reason I bought a DVD player when the episodes on DVD were released (I refused to buy any discs without Japanese audio at the time).shenron002 wrote:I would also! Better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.
DB DBox color corrections & DBox color corrections.

Blade Runner came out on Blu-Ray sometime last year and looks wonderful from what I've heard.SSj_Rambo wrote:Has there been any other footage 20 years old older released on Blu-Ray? We know that the season set footage will look terrible on BD, but if it is the oldest footage out on Blu-Ray than that'd be cool.
Animation-wise, I don't believe anything older than Dead Zone has been released, though, so I think DB is the oldest on the format in that genre.

And that's just on the first page of Amazon's Blu Ray results for "Animation".

Oh, right, forgot all about Disney. Guess not, then. Yeah I don't really follow Blu-Ray, much less have a player....or a TV to support one.Super Ghost Kamikaze wrote:1959Levlik wrote:Blade Runner came out on Blu-Ray sometime last year and looks wonderful from what I've heard.SSj_Rambo wrote:Has there been any other footage 20 years old older released on Blu-Ray? You are watching OAR. I think you don't understand what OAR means. 2.35:1 will always have widescreen bars. 1.85:1 is the widescreen you might be fond of.shenron002 wrote: I would also! In all seriousness, I wouldn't want a high def version of the dragonbox. Wasn't the DragonBox remastered in 480p? Anyone have any info on that. I haven't had a chance to read the DragonBook on volume 2.

I thought Corey said that the Season box sets could be ready for a Blue-Ray release? Or did everyone agree on that already?
