More natural? Vegeta's practically pink!
Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

Correct. If these DBZ Blu-rays aren't profitable then FUNimation might think about cancelling releasing all 18 Blu-ray volumes.

I haven't seen too much positive feedback for DBZ Level 1.1 even. And I'm not a fan of FUNi's DBZ Blu-rays neither.
That's funny. Most of the feedback I read were positive. As a fan who owns both the Dragon Box and Level 1.1 sets, I can tell you that Level 1.1 looks superior. It's sharper, the colors are more accurate to the original Japanese broadcast, and it's not slightly zoomed like the Dragon Box sets are.

So, they'll release until at least there.
They could have just remastered those few scenes to use for the trailer.

Maybe they actually can, Dragon Ball Kai was cancelled because it wasn't a lucrative franchise and so, they decided to terminate it.

I too wanted Boo's Kai arc but I can live with the Z anime version, or even giving the manga a go.
FUNimation 2015 Releases I want:
- Kai 2.0 on Blu-ray

On topic though - I'm not going to slate the dragon box's but you can't deny the facts. At the end of the day as an owner of both, like most, I too believe that 1.1's picture is superior in almost every way. It is your opinion though but I can't understand how the raw footage of the Dbox's look better to you :?:

From what I've seen of Level 1.1 (not much), I can truthfully say that the added picture to the edges and the colors are really nice. However, I feel like there's some layer of "depth" that's missing. I don't exactly know how to point it out and I don't know what change was made to give me that feeling, but the picture just look s a little more "flat." It's nothing that really bothers me in general, but in direct comparison to the DBox that's the one thing I've noticed where Level 1.1 might not have the advantage over the DBox. Maybe it's just me. I'm not sure.

I haven't had any opportunities to watch it in Japanese yet so I can't tell you what I think of the audio quality compared to the DBox, though.

Well IMO I like the DBOX colors better.

Well I have only seen screen shots but I do agree the Blu Rays do look a little flat.

Nothing wrong with that. The DBox colors are, even with it leaning more toward red in earlier episodes, absolutely amazing.

What example? The shots I posted? The corrected shot was made by me, and isn't a shot of FUNi's Blu-Ray. If that isn't what you're referring to, then never mind.

It's a shame, because these are pretty much perfect.
They will. The Dragon Boxes weren't a hit and all 7 boxes are out.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but they were indeed profitable. The Dragon Boxes were planned from the start as a limited collectors edition.

You're giving FUNimation too much credit. Sales figures will determine whether this release gets seen through to the end or dropped in favor of a more practical release. The fact that it is Dragon Ball Z has got nothing to do with it.

Have you listened to the "What the hell just happened to Dragon Ball Kai?" episode of The Podcast yet? It's pretty much explained there (I forget what number it is)

In a nutshell, Kai wasn't dropped in favor of Toriko specifically -- Kai was dropped because of Kai. Toei's whole approach is to start adjusting FAR more quickly than they ever have before. If something isn't performing, get rid of it. FAST. Toriko just happened to be next thing they were starting up. If it wasn't Toriko that took its timeslot, it would have been something else.

But that's got nothing to do with FUNimation's Blu-ray sets, and there are far more appropriate threads and website sections you can turn your attention to. Please try, especially at 100+ pages, to keep things as on-topic, friendly, polite, and concise as you can. Thank you!

And I hate to spam this question, but can somone please inform me of any new info/how good is the set?

I can't find the exact page of my last post, so I can't say of what I need to know from that point on, so just general review/intresting things would be nice.

Like, how does it compare to Orange bricks and the dragon boxes? Both opinions and actual picture/video comparsions would be nice.

I realize this sounds selfish, but I really just don't have the time to go look through the thread to find this stuff. The fact that I've only been able to post here a day or so at a time once every few weeks shows that.

I don't think they're ignorant. They just don't care, like at all. Which you know what, good for them.
I agree with the latter. I like the falcnour music, I do like teamfourstar's abrigded series, and I think the over 9000/8000 thing is funny. It's not that we don't KNOW about how the series originally was or whatever, it's that we didn't grow up with that, so we don't care as much about the same stuff you guys do.

If anything, assuming that all of those types of fans are ignorant, is in ITSELF ignorant. Sure, some of them may be, like the ones who don't realize that sabat wasn't even the one who said the over 9000 line, but we all aren't.

In my case, I can't enjoy the orange bricks because of the laughable restoration and color disortion, but I can't enjoy the dragon boxes either due to no falcnour track.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm also wondering about what you guys think about the various fan made remastering on youtube. There are quite a few channels that remaster certain scenes themselves into blue ray quality 1080p quality.

I don't know how you guys would view me linking them here, (I don't THINK there should be an issue since the very nature of it is being improved and therfore falls under fair use, but...) so I won't.
