The thing about this is that, had you not stuck 'DBTHEMOVIE.COM' on it, I would never have looked at it and thought 'Dragonball'.
EDIT - Nevermind

I am so confused. Weren't you just saying Goku shouldn't be even eating it because Luffy or something should?

Had problems with the last pic. I didn't WANT to stick it on it, but since I'm the one posting it for everyone and not Fox who are lazy, I think I have the right to.
I didn't mean to criticize that part, only that if someone (you, in this particular instance) hadn't labeled it as a Dragonball: The Movie screen shot, I couldn't have seen it as such.

What I'm saying is that when I think of Goku, the first thing that comes to mind ISN'T him stuffing his face randomly. That's more of a Luffy thing. There are a ton of more notable things about Goku that stick out than just him eating. Goku's not about eating all the time.

But when Goku does eat, it's definitely more than just that.

It seems to me like they're at least catching all of his well-known character traits, but it'll be interesting to see if they can merge them into a likeness of what Goku's really all about once his plate is empty or the enemy is finally defeated.

That's been the fan reaction to pretty much everything shown so far. Well done. :D

Yeah, jeez, we're so ungrateful. A starving man should graciously accept a piece of moldy bread.

While it's never been my hope that they'd show Goku eating, I can see Tsukento's point. With Goku's appetite, it's more about quantity than frequency. When Goku eats, it's an absurd amount that causes the people around him to wonder how it's physically possible. It's not quite the same to have him eating drumsticks and hot dogs round the clock. A single scene of him putting away a feast fit for a dozen people would've sufficed in the 'Goku-eats-a-lot' character trait.

None of this is actually my problem with the screen shot, though, just adding to this argument for the heck of it...

How much food could he possibly fit on that vehicle? C'mon, these complaints are really nitpicking.

There's also another scene described where Goku has to decide if he wants to see Chi-Chi win her tournament match or buy a hot dog instead.

Well apparently, for his birthday Grandpa Gohan does actually throw Goku a feast. With the likely number of attendees being a whopping three people (Goku, Gohan, and maybe Chi-Chi), I can imagine who'd probably end up doing most of the feasting.

As for the context of this picture, it's Bulma's bike, so I would assume he's guarding it and waiting for her while she sleuths around or checks on something. I could definitely imagine her handing him the drumstick to keep him occupied and telling him, "here, watch my bike and don't break anything."

Wrong.

You're a DBZ fan. Saying that you'll never have anything to whine about is like saying FUNimation will backtrack and finish releasing the UUSEs. :D

All three of those were in regards to parts I made up entirely on my own. >_>

The stuff from CHUD's article hasn't been proven wrong yet, so the feast is a safe bet. Plus, what else would Goku be doing in the pic but waiting for Bulma? He's with her bike, all alone, in a dark and secluded place.

Exactly what I was trying to get at.

It's supposed to be Dragon Ball. Common sense isn't Goku's strongest feature. This is supposed to be the kid who thought Bulma making a bike appear out of a tiny capsule was magic and that she was a witch and marriage was a kind of food.

I'm tempted to break my ban on the l-wor in responding to this page. :D
... you know, assuming it reins non-flamy.

I don't even know what to think about Oozaru, crappy look or otherwise... :? the existence of such makes me nervous, for some reason...

I was refering more specifically to the fact that putting a spin on something that looks like shit or is just really underwhelming can work both ways, and either can be an accurate point of view until we have more to rely on than where our assumptions and imaginations can take us.

I can see the necessity for some sort of Oozaru in the movie. Perhaps it's how Piccolo will identify Goku's Saiyan heritage to everyone, assuming that Goku won't have a tail to readily give it away.

*forehead slap* ... Good point. Somehow I was just expecting Piccolo to know, somehow... magically... yeah.
As opposed to my (somewhat ridiculous) idea involving reimagining the Mafuuba... which accidentally makes sequels easier... *wonders if should post movie ideas in the fanworks section* :?

That really doesn't answer how Piccolo supposedly knows about the Saiyans. o_o That just would solve how to recognize Goku being one.

I'm just saying, y'know?

If Goku looks as human as the rest of us, I'm not sure how Piccolo is going to pick up on it unless there's some sort of clue. Then again, I wouldn't put it past the movie for Piccolo to just "know" for no particular reason other than to advance the plot.

For now, I'm banking on Oozaru being crucial to an exploration of Goku's Saiyan background.

If Piccolo turns out to be from space, then maybe he knows of the Saiyans somewhat.

Meh, an adapted Piccolo knowing about the Saiyans is less of a stretch than him knowing Goku is one.
(Yes, I know it craps on Piccolo's "Namek who has long since forgotten his name" backstory... )
