Live Action Ozaru Goku leaked?

Post by Taku128 » Thu Nov 06, 2008 2:59 am

http://dbthemovie.com/2008/11/05/myster ... ster-goku/

A picture was leaked to dbthemovie.com, showing Goku in "monster" form. I can only assume monster form is the movie's Ozaru. The picture isn't confirmed to be from the movie, but if this is really their Ozaru, my hopes for the movie have dropped. I still have some hope, but this change I'm not very happy with.

I guess you can say I'm not ready for this.

A bit more fur, and facial hair, and I'd say this design isn't half bad. I like it. It'd be perfect for the purists if the snout and mouth areas were protuding from the face, but otherwise; wow.

Too ambiguous to say for sure, really. The gi appears to be still on in the image, so the shot may be mid-transformation in which case it's hardly the full Great Ape get up.

Reminds me more of the Master in Buffy than of the Great Ape form, however.

I'll be honest when I say it scares me.

Not in the "oh how embarrassing to the series" way.

In the genuine, gut-busting fear kind of way.
He scares me like an operating room with a body cut open on it, or an old creepy house at night.

And, you know, the thing about a shark... he's got lifeless eyes. Black eyes. Like a doll's eyes. When he comes at ya, doesn't seem to be living... until he bites ya, and those black eyes roll over white and then... ah then you hear that terrible high-pitched screamin'. The ocean turns red, and despite all the poundin' and the hollerin', they all come in and they... rip you to pieces.

That sorta thing.

I hope the final product has hair/fur.

My thoughts exactly, it looks more like it's going to be used for a few shots where Goku is in the middle of transforming.

If not..well.. It's an "interesting" direction to take the Oozaru, by "interesting" I of course mean pathetic and retarded.

Aint the same, but I like it. It'll more then likely look really awesome once all the effects and all are on it, I just hope Vegeta is even creepier looking in the (possible) sequel  .
I enjoy the Dragon Ball original AND Dub, even the VHS Fan-Sub's.

Um...

I just hope that's a Mid-transformation shot. Goku turns into a Giant Ape. Not...A wolf man.

That gets my blood boiling.

Guh.. I really hope Chatwin surprises the fuck out of us and pulls off an amazing Goku.

He looks rather lizard-like, especially the eyes. I also suspect/hope it's a mid-transformation form, what with it being fairly hairless.

I can confirm one thing.

The shot is unfinished.

That being said, it's no surprise the producers went in a more alien direction to avoid the King Kong comparisons and also to support the claim Goku is an alien.

It doesn't make too much sense that aliens transform into earth monkeys.

Yes, yes, I know Goku is based on that monkey guy Sun Wukong or something, but DBZ wasn't exactly faithful to that anyway.

EDIT: Also, my source said theres "lots more" monster shots. And not of Goku. Maybe they meant the Fullum assassins, I don't know.

If challenge had a taste, you'd be quite delicious.

Actually Oozaru form's got both ape and monkey qualities.

Glad that's an unfinished shot, because its REALLY creepy. He looks like some kind of humanoid fish monster.

YOU'RE DEFENDING THIS?!?!? *Spazzes*

Except for the actual existence of the DragonBall's and Goku's Gi. I see nothing that resembles DragonBall in this movie. Now they're even changing Goku's transformation?

I remember one guy said a while ago that Goku didn't transform into a giant Oozaru but rather a 10-foot tall scary-looking beast. That guy did say he had hair, though.

I've seen what the character's look like. I've seen making out. I've seen general plot idea's. At this point the only thing that could make this movie good for me is if Toriyama himself jumps out of nowhere and kills Piccolo himself.

See, I don't see that to be too important. You know why? Akira Toriyama never made a big deal about others being faithful. I mean, GT wasn't exactly a faithful sequel...

And neither was the movies....

At least the character's were still themselves. You can't just change everything, name the main character Goku, slap the DragonBall logo on it and call it DragonBall.
