Because then there would be no reason to consistently make the pink power ranger female. If that bias did not exist, we could have an equal number of male or female pink rangers.

That isn't really fair. Dragonball has used pink for several creatures Buyon, Dodoria and Buu spring to mind. Are any of them particularly feminine?
Also other anime use pink in a non feminine way. Doflamingo and Natsu coming up in conversation are definitely valid.
The whole nature of Vegeta's angst at wearing a Pink shirt was a social comment really on these middle aged men who get all uncomfortable at the thought of wearing Pink because it isn't manly.

Another weeks break mid September for Super.
Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
Bad use of those sources, my friend, you have to put things in context to provide a good comparison of what I said earlier. I'm not trying to act like a smart-ass or anything by saying "It's 2016", I just pointed out that we should get over those arguments about colour being a reference of some things, with those things implying some dangerous messages. And Kanassa just ripped off my opinion just taking the "It's 2016" out of context instead of supporting (if it's true that he agrees with me) the real message: enough with "pink is a feminine reference (no shit, by the way), so let's not put it in male characters so they don't look weaker or funny." It just doesn't add anything potable or interesting to the debate... it sounds more like someone with a pretty basic opinion trying to make a big deal out of something really stupid. That, and the fact that, if you say that, you're implying that if you look feminine you look weak (a very sexist thing to say), and THAT'S what you shouldn't take seriously, not some oh-I'm-so-cool bull crap about chronological snobbery (not even used properly in this debate). Do you see my point?Alruneia wrote:Sorry, but Kanassa's right. It is incredibly difficult to take CURRENT YEAR seriously. It's a worthless non-argument.PMD wrote:Oh, c'mon. That's an empty statement. Just another guy trying to act cool. Try harder next time.Kanassa wrote: I agree with you, but at the same time I can't take anything seriously that has ''IT'S CURRENT YEARS, DUDES!" in it.
Sorry for butting in on this debate like this, but I felt like I needed to bring in some sources.
(If you want to go deeper, we can't talk semiology any time, but in this context it'll not be really funny, and I'm not that good enough with english to follow you guys, to be honest haha)
With all this been said (and again, sorry if my english is not perfect, I must practice), I want to remind you that I'm against SSJ Rosé, so let's hope they come up with a solid excuse to use that transformation or it will be just another random Bandai idea like blue-hair-Future-Trunks.
Thank you, that's an amazing comment.Krillin1994 wrote:Dragonball has used pink for several creatures Buyon, Dodoria and Buu spring to mind. Are any of them particularly feminine?

And most importantly, pink is sexyyy
SSSJ, Sexy Super Saiya-jin!
Can't wait for Goku Black to use some signature moves like Sexy-dama, Sexy-kameha or Sexy Fist.

Are people really that butthurt about pink? Sure I didn't like it at first glance but doesn't look that bad. I'd rather have white (or a non-recolor altogether, but pink is okay.
We should wait to at least see it in the anime before you guys get all up-in-arms. I think a brighter now virbrant like ala Buu could be pretty cool

God Kaioken: it's not a coincidence that every pink power ranger apart from one is female so yeah I'd say its a cultural issue.
Anyways I'm done talking about this in this thread since I don't want to make anyone uncomfortable by talking about Super Saiyan Victoria's Secret.
I've addressed this argument many many times. Super Saiyan Rose is not a natural pink color like Natsu's. It is an all powerful transformation in which the color of the hair and aura is emphasized. Natsu's natural hair color is not.Krillin1994 wrote:Dragonball has used pink for several creatures Buyon, Dodoria and Buu spring to mind. Are any of them particularly feminine?

Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
I agree White would have definitely been a better choice but Pink is typical Toriyama, subverting expectations! I agree best to take the wait and see approach about SSR. We still don't know what the shade of Pink the anime will use or how the aura will look etc. It could turn out to look pretty sweet.Dbzfan94 wrote:Are people really that butthurt about pink? I wasn't ripping off your opinion, I was saying that I found that ''It's 2016'' was a ridiculous notion towards the argument; as pointed out it was a fallacy. Even then that statement was only a small part of my post while the other talked about the part of your post I thought was asinine. So no, I do not think the statement was empty (Though I could of explained myself more), and no, I did not make it in some ridiculous attempt to be 'cool' (Which I still do not get). THough in all fairness, the bulk of my post was edited in after I accidentally hit the post button.PMD wrote: And Kanassa just ripped off my opinion just taking the "It's 2016" out of context instead of supporting (if it's true that he agrees with me) the real message: enough with "pink is a feminine reference (no shit, by the way), so let's not put it in male characters so they don't look weaker or funny."

I meant natural in the sense that it's natural for him, obviously. I didnt mean that it's natural in real life lol.
Re: "Dragon Ball Super" Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
I'm not upset about pink color. But what makes me upset is all those transformations. We have the normal SSJ yellow...And now we have SSJ Red, SSJ Blue...And in future we will have SSJ White (according to Akira). And SSJ Pink...Come on, 5 colors? Really? After this will be SSJ Rainbow?PMD wrote:I'm effin tired of that "oh, pink is feminine, ugh" narrative. It's 2016, fellas. Your manhood is not in danger if you watch an anime when someone/something has that colour on it, and is not a sign of weakness. Get over that bs.
PS: These guys send their regards
It's enough of colored transformations. We need something different!
Vados Sama!

Ehhh I'd rather have Super Saiyan Rose Black than Super Saiyan Yellow Black. At least it's something slightly different and new to discuss.
