As we can see here, Coola's 5th form is similar to his second form, with spikes on his back, tail, arms and head. Basically, his 5th form is to his 4th form what his second form is to his first plus spikes.

That's what they gave Cold for his 5th form, giving his own spikes and kind of a crown on his head.

But how would a 6th form be?

Well, if the 5th is kind of like the second, they it makes sense for it to be like the third.

And that's what they did, but, following the trend they gave him spikes, and made him impressive.

And then the 7th form is like a modified version of the 4th form, so if one of their family reaches that level we'd get... ...oh yeah. We already got that one. Golden Freeza!

(Heck, Cold's new form even has lightning. 5th/Super Evolution = their version of SSj... 6th/"Ultra Evolution" or something? = their SSJ2... and as has already been noted by several people, what would be the "7th" form with DBM's new one counted, aka Ultimate Evolution = their take on SSj3, complete with rapid energy drain.)

I wouldn't be surprised if this form already had rapid drain. Might not since 3rd form didn't iirc but maybe...
I'm actually interested at who he compares to strength wise now, which is a bit surprising since I don't usually care much about that anymore.

In some ways, it kinda betrays Toriyama idea, just like Broly, strongest characters were usually short and Innocent looking, perfect example of "Dont't judge book by its cover"

But Toriyama didn't make every character who was powerful small and unimposing. What he did with Freeza, for example, was use contrast by creating increasingly imposing forms, and then went back to a smaller sleeker form as a surprise, as he did with Buu going from fat to serious looking and then down to a weaker looking kid form again. The Toriyama idea is a sequence, not a single design. You can't pick any one character at any stage and say it's not Toriyama-like just because they are massive. Toriyama even designed Broly, and had a big hand in other ridiculous movie characters people think of as not being associated with him.

Getting away from this forms appearance, I wonder how strong Cold is. Maybe he's SSJ3 tier? I can't see Bra beating him easily in base now, and with those extra pair of arms he should definitely have an advantage if they are close in power. Hopefully all those spikes will be able to extend for combat purposes or something like that. One things for sure, that tail looks crazy dangerous.

I hope Cold won't lose due to power drain.

As much I dislike the concept of Cold being stronger than Freeza (I find it far more interesting to have a galactic tyrant who rules through the strength of his offspring), I could have bought into this form if it was designed properly. Emulating the Xenomorph queen wasn't a bad idea, especially for lifeforms who habitually mutate heir bodies.

But what we have here cannot be compared to H.G. Giger's iconic creations. The bizarre elegance his creatures were able to maintain despite their monstrous appearances is completely absent. Instead we have a messy, unwieldy, and impractical transformation that completely lacks any hints of aesthetic balance or subtlety. It works as a caricature of a 6th form, but not much else.

Keep the crown of spikes, shorten the other ones, and ditch the second pair of arms, and then we would have had something worthwhile.

It could be in something for Dragon Ball, just like Hildegarn but not as result of "this isn't even my final form".

The good old Toriyama rule does not have to be followed all the time. But that does not mean you need to make a dinosaur.

Incidentally, when I first saw the RoF trailer with Freeza saying how they were about to witness his further evolution("halabala(no idea what's said here) shinka"), I thought of Digimon and hoped that someone would make a joke video about it.
Since he's Golden Freeza you can say he used the Golden Digimental to evolve to that form

After that nonsense with the other original characters I really don't see how this is a the straw that breaks the camel's back. It's just a bigger, spikier transformation. Not that big a deal.

I love Cold's 5th form. "Big Daddy" Cold - It's fucking great and I wish Frieza had something similar in ROF. His 6th..eh..I can live with it. Sorta. Still way better than Golden Frieza.

They really ought to have kept Cold in his fifth form, looks certainly better in my opinion. Both forms are marked by ludicrously ornate ostentation, but the sixth form is a tad too much and that's putting it mildly and this comes from someone who liked Demigra's final form. Sadly this also seems to be the end of the transformation sequence so any hope for an additional transformation to remedy the ridiculous mess of horns, spikes, crowns and claws is out of the window.

I have to say, after golden Freeza I'm surprised to see so many not liking it to this degree.

Golden Freeza was designed to mock the Super Saiyan form that caused him so much grief. This...thing has no basis around it whatsoever aside from Salagir doing what he wants. Hell I consider it an insult because not only did it take away Cooler's one unique feature that separates him from Freeza, but it attempted to make Cold way more powerful than he should be to the point of ridiculousness. Making matters worse, this isn't even the aid Buu gave him, which was a sharp tongue against Saiyans.

I've already explained in detail what the basis for both forms is:

I have no idea why it should get hate. Both of Cold's forms just followed the logic behind Coola's 5th form.

Saying that it has no basis or no logic is just incorrect. Just like SS3 is an overkill extension of what SSj2 was, this is an overkill extension of what their monster third form was.
