After how FOX treated everything else, you'd actually want to see their Vegeta? If the movie was successful enough to warrant a sequel, the sequel would probably be in the style of it's predecessor. The only time really huge changes happen to the style in a lot of franchises (read: everything but "007") is when there's major parental controversy over the previous installment. Examples would include the transition of styles between "Batman Returns" and "Batman Forever" or "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" and "TMNT2: The Secret of the Ooze."

They wouldn't have likely gotten it right the second time around. They'd say, "Oh, wow! This style of Dragonball made lots of money! Let's make a sequel in the same style so we can get more money from it!" Not, "This style of Dragonball made a lot of money. Let's take a huge gamble and make it closer to the source material this time around for no reason!" Once the sequel would come out, you'd get the same formula for Vegeta as you did for Piccolo: You rarely saw him at random points and then he was defeated way too easily at the end.

So, I think it's for the best if FOX just leaves Dragonball alone after this so that we don't get a bunch of pissed off Vegeta fans whining over the fact that, "That's not my Batman!"

I still do hope we get a reboot a few years down the road. One where the lesson has been learned and they handle the property at least a little better.

I would be a happy man regarding Dragonball in Hollywood if we get the extended fight of Goku vs. Piccolo in DVD/Blu-ray.

If Fox does do a movie they better get the damn thing right this time. Get better and more popular actors (keep Marsters), get a director that knows what the hell he's doing (like Michael Bay), and promote the movie. I'm sure they could make a DB movie a big success if they handled it right.
Aka gtadbzman.

Michael Bay? Common, he is terrible. This is his idea for a movie: little storyline, explosions everywhere. Explosions are cool, but to a point. I could see it now, the main characters are looking for the Dragonballs when suddenly, uh oh, the US Armed Forces are battling Terrorists, who are also looking for the Dragonballs, and they're killing everybody, explosions happening all over the place, jet fights, everything. Then back to the Dragonball gang finding DB's. It just wouldn't work out, Bay sucks, Transformers is good but way to long of a movie, no movie based on a cartoon series should be over 2 hours long. DB Should be atleast 1 hour and 45 minutes.

Let's remember that this isn't a Transformers message board.

IMDB removed the "DragonBall: Reborn" page a while back, but now they're listing a page called "Untitled Dragonball Reboot (2012)", thoughts?

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1754820/

I still think IMDB is pretty unreliable though... But if they are indeed doing something with the live action, I'd rather have a reboot than a sequel.

IMDB is another one of those website which can be changed and edited by any ol' mook with a membership. So an "update" of this manner is mostly meaningless.

Also... this was a year-and-a-half necropost...
