Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Resurrection 'F'"

I'm determined to get totally 100% caught up on the Bulma blog before it wraps up this week, but in the meantime here are so far the last two "character visit"-type posts, with Whis and Beerus. Next I'll wrap up all the voice artist comments, and then go through the staff posts on promo tie-ins and whatnot.

Whis:

Bulma: Hey, Bulma here!
Just 15 days until the premiere!
Today Whis has stopped by!
Whis, your treat for the day is Bavarian cream!

Whis: Greetings Bulma, and greetings to all the people of Earth. My name is Whis.
So today you’ve got…“Bavarian cream”, was it? Let’s see here….Hmmm, this tastes exquisite!

Bulma: Naturally! I made it myself! Well, now that you’ve eaten, tell us a little about the film!

Whis: Oh, it looks as if that Freeza fellow has come back to life. You know, I never imagined anyone besides Lord Beerus or Majin Buu was capable of defeating Freeza, so when he lost to Son Goku it was quite a shock. Now he probably yearns for revenge on Son Goku and the others. I’m looking forward to seeing how much stronger he can become. Goku and Vegeta are currently training under my tutelage, but both of them have their weaknesses.

Bulma: What do you mean, “weaknesses”?!

Whis: I cannot say. Well then, I should probably be returning to Lord Beerus. You never know when he might roll over in his sleep and destroy another planet. I’m looking forward to 15 days from now. Good day to you all.

Beerus:

Bulma: Hey, Bulma here!
Just 10 days until the premiere!
We’ve got an incredible guest today: Beerus, God of Destruction!

Beerus: *Yawn* Whhhaaaa….I only got to sleep for two years. I ought to destroy you for waking me up so soon.

Bulma: Look, there’s an entire pool’s worth of pudding for you after this, so just be patient.

Beerus: Really?! OK then, what do you want?

Bulma: Freeza’s come back to life, and apparently he’s heading for Earth to get revenge on Son-kun and the gang!!

Beerus: Hmph. Surely Son Goku or Vegeta are more than enough to handle him?

Bulma: You’d think so, but it seems Freeza’s gone and gotten way stronger than before!

Beerus: Hmph…Well, I’m God of Destruction, so regardless of what happens to Earth, it’s no skin off my nose.

Bulma: Don’t give me that! You’re strong, so help us out!!

Beerus: Mmm, what a nuisance…Still, you did prepare a nice meal for me, so I’ll save you. But no one else.

Bulma: Cheapskate!

Beerus: ……What was that?? …….Well, whatever. 10 days from now, right? I guess I can watch a bunch of anime in the meantime. Geez, that’s a long way off though. Maybe I’ll take a nap.

I swear, the more I read about this film the more excited I get. Summer can't get here fast enough!

Hey, I won't complain if the excitement of the crowd made the movie better. Even so, I do think that it was a good movie on its own.

Definitely. As it stands, I'm actually of the opinion that it's the best DBZ movie yet. I loved movie 12 but the way the characters are actually treated in RoF actually pushes it over for me.

Not that I really have a problem with the current version, but it could have been done in any number of ways to give Vegeta the kill. Goku didn't even have to kill him with a Kamehameha. He could have just used Shunkan'ido to teleport over to Freeza and attack him before he could blow up Earth again. While Freeza is recovering, have him quickly tell Vegeta that he'll explain about his interruption later but he needs to stop dicking around because Freeza is desperate enough to play dirty or something. You don't need to weaken Goku for Vegeta to get the glory.

If I remember correctly, Wyoming's Temporal Distortion Unit wasn't like Whis' ability. Wyoming was using a time loop. Whis was literally rewinding time to the point were we see everything playing in reverse. The characters in Whis' barrier are protected from the ability though, so they can't rewind I assume.

But if they don't rewind then wouldn't there be two of each person?

No. Think of it like this... everything in the universe is an arrangement of atoms or energy, and Whis reversed the movement of energy or atoms that took place in the last 3 minutes for everything outside of his barrier.

Oh my goodness, at the images of Blueper Saiyans Goku and Vegeta. Goku looks good, but DAAANG, Vegeta... I'm In love. Again. @u@

I'm feeling even more excited for this movie knowing that so many people like it, but I really loved BoG, so I'm going to have to try to keep my expectations on check still. Even though Vegeta has a really awesome moment in the movie (seemingly a part thats pretty popular with people who've seen it,) I still put character-based stuff and story before anything else, so I hope there's enough cuteness and funny stuff in between to keep me satiated.

Anyone point out or notice that we're now four-for-four on never getting to see Vegeta's first-time transformations? We didn't see him first become a Super Saiyan during the three years' training (in the original manga, anyway), nor a Super Saiyan 2 during the seven years before Boo. Now we also haven't gotten to see him becoming a red-haired and skinny Super Saiyan God, nor supposedly his first time attaining Blueper Saiyan either. Unless his usage of it against Freeza IS supposed to be his first time.

Most likely both of them are using Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan for the first time.

Yet, Dragon Ball Heroes will amazingly show us Super Saiyan God Vegeta.

Glad to hear from so many viewers that it was an entertaining movie. It's easy to say details from a summary are bad, but the experience of a movie on the whole shouldn't be underestimated.

There is a Stand from JJBA Part 7 that does something similar.

That was fast forwarding time, which ended up going so fast the universe reset, with the exception of its user and one other stand user. Apparently if it completed the loop, some grand change was going to happen to humanity where they could see and change their own destiny, but he got his brains smashed in by the last surviving good guy, leaving us with an alternate universe.

I was always under the impression that he first transformed into SSJ2 while training with Goku, which is why Goku was so confident in him.
