Videoames and Anime are two different things.
If anything, anime soundtracks can fit perfectly in the series games, but the other way around?! Dont think so.
But somehow you made me go hearing
this epicness again, so thank you.
I know, I just meant music in any Dragon Ball product, should've been more specific. Yamamoto really got the Dragon Ball feel with those tracks imo, too bad the whole plagiarization thing happened.
Something like this screams Dragon Ball to me:

Shame the Plagiarism stuff with Yamamato happened, because I always felt like his music from the video games and Kai were a modernized, way more listenable version of Kikuchi's stuff.
Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

I must say, I LOVE Yamamoto's Stratovarius rip-offs:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QiE6ssOyQPg
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gjCaBIpUsmE
He also made (plagiarized) one of the most memorable themes in the original Japanese version:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eMYt9sGOcTU
Why must he be a plagiarist (or caught plagiarizing...lol)!? He could have been the composer for Super.
"Dragon Ball once became a thing of the past to me, but after that, I got angry about the live action movie, re-wrote an entire movie script, and now I'm complaining about the quality of the new TV anime. It seems Dragon Ball has grown on me so much that I can't leave it alone." - Akira Toriyama on Dragon Ball Super

Yamamoto's more of an arranger than a composer, sort of like hip-hop producers who sample (though they give credit on licensed stuff). That's also why he has a tendency of recycling a lot of his older material (IE a couple of songs on the kai soundtrack sounded pretty similar to stuff from the Budokai games).
Plagiarism and "inspiration" is fairly common on a lot of TV shows and soundtracks. Yamamoto just got busted.

Also, is it too much to ask to have this theme back?

Anyways, was this message from the official site ever translated? Just seems like a welcome messages from Goku, Gohan and Trunks.

It's not appropriate to justify his blatant plagiarism by lumping it in with legitimate sampling. He shamelessly stole others' creations and made millions of money by only decorating them a little differently, which is far from the sampling technique. What he did is basically just playing others' music with different instruments.
I feel sorry for Yamamoto fans, but let's face reality; He paid the penalty for his illegal and unprofessional deeds and there is no point in whining over it. His compositions for the franchise and himself will never come back. NEVER.

I'd also love it if they chose to use We Gotta Power again. I love that theme!

I'm not sure if it was myself, but I threw the whole thing in the best "Guestimate" translator ever, and it mentions something about fusion...I think?

Frankly, I think he got off far too easily. He's still working in the industry somehow, albeit as an arranger in projects of a lower profile, but when I think of all of the thousands of skilled young professionals who are working hard every day to try and make a living in the music industry, who would give anything for some paid work, it makes me a little cross that he's still making money.
I mean sure, everyone makes mistakes and deserves a second chance - but he plagiarised on such a prolific level that it would be a gross injustice to call his misdemeanors a 'mistake'. It was deliberate and systemic.

Most of it was included as part of the
official press announcement:
Masako Nozawa wrote:I've used the word ‘cho’ (super) in so many commercials, games and other media, it is fantastic that the long awaited Dragon Ball Super will finally begin.
I hope that this series will last a long time and have the same impact around the world as its predecessor.
The rest seems to be improvised by Nozawa, which is just the Son family talking about how great it is to meet everyone (aka: the fans) again.

Are you sure there isn't something about a neck-long comb? lol

CM, I've come to say the word Kazushirezu "super" in the game, etc., finally,
is the best in the fact that the series "Dragon Ball super" is started.
Neck long-comb with long-awaited new series, the long-and Ku-Ku length continues, it is more the best. "
We're lucky to have people who can actually translate this stuff, or we'd be stuck trying to make sense of that mess.

For them, hardly. It's sort of their thing, it's what makes them special in terms of battle and in terms of friendship (other people being relunctant to fuse while the two of them are just waiting for any excuse to do it).
Let's hope they keep fusing all the time as they grow up to teenagers. They just love fusing for every single possible reason! (even when it's just to play in a bath)
(Another weird thing of
GT when I think about it: let's not have Goten and Trunks fuse when it's their number one asset and the thing they love the most, let's even have them mention the possibility just to thwart it.)

Are you really serious? I mean, the fusion only adds a lil bit to their character and isn't necessary at all to portray their friendship, but what's more important is that it melds them into a fighting bot and leaves less screen-time for their individual character developement. I don't see how it helps their characters in anyway really, it has more of a negative effect
