Why no proper Opening and Ending animations? They messed it up for the old releases and just had opening 1 and ending 2.
With new Dragonball film masters we may very well get what you're looking for.

Number 4 is highly unlikely for many reasons.

Uhh..I'm not so sure about this. I recall reading this topic back in January. I hope I'm wrong and Time Traveller's "ESP was working". Also Innagadadavida called the picture on the front too.

If this has already been addressed, I apologize. I'll sort back through this topic again to see if I missed it.

It's not very hard to predict Goku was gonna be on the cover.

True. But considering Goku is the obvious choice for anything DB related, something like the dragon or the dragonballs would have been just as applicable. Understandable, it's Goku the first time we see him, but it could have been saved for Season 2. Maybe they went with Goku so as not to be ripping the box in the other post (assuming it's a fake).

Uh... What? If Season Six hadn't told you anything, FUNimation likes to put Goku anywhere they can, even if it doesn't make sense. Here is the logical place to put him, so of course they would choose to do so.

For what it's worth, the image of Goku they used actually looks good, and since good non-Toei DragonBall artwork is very, very rare, I'm guessing it's legit. Besides, I've never seen this image of Goku anywhere before, so I doubt it was just something any ol' random Joe could find on the internet and copy/paste it into Photoshop.

Not that anything I said qualifies as proof or anything; just my two cents. I'm sticking with the "real until proven fake" mentality.

Never said it wasn't logical. But since there is a possiblity that this could be a fake, if they went with the dragon (which would also be logical) one could say that it was ripped off from the other post if it is a fake.

Putting Goku on the cover of the box while logical, (if legit) is also very convincing (if fake). Especially if someone found that image shown in the other post somewhere. If they used the exact picture, it would be a tell (if it is fake) Considering the license issue with the first 13 episodes all these years, I'm wary of this as I feel something would have been "leaked" by now.

If it's legit fine. If not, what more obvious way to keep the lie going than doing everything to make it look legit, without any other support to back it up.

And Wal-mart gets this first? Not Rightstuf. Not Amazon. Not any of the usual sites. Not sure how reliable they are, but did ANN pick this up? Funi's not saying officially even though it's on Wal-mart's site. And with DBE coming out in July, wouldn't they at least try to release this to coincide with that date? I really hope I'm wrong, but it really doesn't make any sense to keep quiet since the cat's out. At least they would have had Wal-mart take it down until they made it official wouldn't they?

It kind of looks like part of the artwork for DragonBall DS/Origins, but I could be wrong.

I just realized: On the boxart that Wal-Mart has, the "Dragon Ball" logo still has the Japanese kana on the title.

Now, the Dragon Ball Z/GT season sets don't have the Japanese kana with the title. However, the Dragon Ball movie box that FUNi has released uses the Japanese kana:

Dunno if this is significant or a good clue, but maybe it can help someone fill in the blanks to this mystery.

Me and a couple other guys have been posting about DB Season One on FUNi's Facebook and here's what we got...
I am glad to know that you guys are fans of the Dragon Ball franchise. No announcement has been made regarding plans to digitally remaster and restore the Dragon Ball series. I am sure we will make an announcement when the decision is made.

I do know we'll have some big FUNimation news at Anime Expo, so be sure to stay connected.
Foreshadowing? I would say so... It pisses me off how FUNi just can't tell the truth about stuff like this.

So in the event of this news of an actual season set release of the original Dragon Ball series, I, as a fan, want you to know that these sets should be just like the GT Season sets as opposed to the Z season sets (In Fullscreen 4:3 and not the Widescreen 16:9) so that they may be represented in the fashion they were meant for.

Please hear the fans outcry for this to happen to make this the most successful release.

Have you ever been a feed back manager for FUNimation? I'm sure the prewritten response is a lot easier to do than type something new up for every single email.

Pay attention to the wording--no announcements have been made regarding plans to remaster the Dragon Ball series.

See, the best part about this--they're not lying at all! There have, in fact, been no announcements about plans to remaster the Dragon Ball series; however, this doesn't mean it's not happening or that there aren't plans--just that no announcements have been made. ;)

It's just vague enough to work. X3

I mean, "big FUNimation news" could mean anything. It may not even relate to Dragon Ball at all.

I'm not knocking it one way or the other, I just found their response entertaining.
