Trunks lifting that rock got me tight. He turned SSJ for a brief second, broke the rock that was crushing him and took off. I know what you guys mean when you say "after the first 16 episodes"... because it's rough right now lol.

Oh and even if Toriyama did design the new Vegeta... it's buttchips. I never liked it.

Cause they can't sense dragon balls. I've said it before when someone asked this in another thread. Instant transmission is great but only when you know where you're going, they wouldn't know where the dragon balls landed, what planet they're on or any of that. What good is instant transmission when you don't know where you're going? They would waste more time if they just blindly jumped from planet to planet.

No they wouldn't. As long as he has a Dragon radar he would be good.
Canon is Jaco, Dragon Ball except for EoZ, Dragon Ball Super anime and manga (both are separate canons)

As we've seen they have to be within a certain proximity to the planet in order for the dragon radar to pick up the dragon ball. So this would mean they would be using instant transmission, jumping planet to planet looking for a signal. While yes IT is fast, it would still take much longer to find the dragon balls this way. (There are lots of planets in the universe ya know!) Also there is then the issue with the 1 star ball, the dragon radar didn't pick it up when the thing was basically right in front of them in Myuu's head. So even if Kibitoshin did find the other 6 with time to spare he would never find the 1 star ball.

Running right through these. Had a lot of free time lol. So I've gotten to the part where the team is trying evade Baby.

Goku vs Rildo was cool. In Japanese I don't think Goku compares his power to Buu's, unless I missed that.

I've gotta say, I really like Baby's initial appearance, short and sleek. I like how crafty he is too. I never gave his character much thought when I first watched, but it's cool. And his voice... is WAY better in japanese than in english. His voice is PuiPui's in english. Meh.

Another note... I know Goku was somewhat stupid before, but he's ridiculous now that he's a kid again... unless he's in a fight. :problem:

I recently watched the english version of that. But he just says Majin Buu I believe, which could refer to either Kid Buu or Original Fat Buu before the split from Evil Buu.

They're all "Majin Buu." He could be talking about the Grey Buu, for all we know.

It would make the most sense for him to be referring to Pure Buu (the one Goku last fought) or Mr. Buu (the only one who's been alive for the past decade or so.) But the line itself isn't conclusive either way.

So... since Baby came to Earth I've had no problems watching this. Starting to wonder why I hated it in the first place... well Goten and Trunks still continue to disappoint. Then Episode 34 came.

Not only is it poorly drawn...pretty sure Uchiyama did the whole thing by himself. But, who's idea was it to have Nozawa make Ape noises? That was the most annoying thing to sit through just now. When has an Oozaru every sounded like that? :x

Damn, you're fast. Guess that's when you're not getting an aneurysm from the awfulness of the first arc.

Goku didn't die in GT. The show sucked him off so much, it was impossible to keep him in the world of the living, so he ascended beyond mortality.

I hate SSJ4 transformation in JPN. Nozawa is awesome but that scream was awful. Sounded like a crying baby. Seriously why o why didn't they just use the Oozaru noise

Japanese version of GT: Things definitely get more interesting when Baby arrives to Earth. I'd say the series hits its high point here. And, at best, it's still a 7/10 when it "works". But after this, the series nosedives. I could get through Super 17 (which is basically on the level of "DBZ Movie 4" in terms of quality. Entertaining, but not very good. 5.5/10). After that, it's actually unwatchable for me. 1/10. The only 2 fantastic episodes in the series (IMO) are the final 2 episodes. They're so good, it's almost as if another team of writers took over the show right at the end.

Great stuff with these reviews btw.

I enjoyed the episode where Baby wakes up and first encounters Goku, Trunks, and Pan. I like the character and his story. I also appreciate that the final fight is kept comparatively short.

The Evil Dragon arc is good. A few of the dragons are dull, but there's a good mix of comedy, action, and drama.

Pretty much this. It was very sci-fi, and it seemed new. I really like Baby's awakening.

So, Baby has been defeated. The fight was okay. What I really liked was Nozawa's performance with Goku's new form. Really liked it. Goku was kind of a low-key asshole during his fight, it was hilarious.

Episode 40 though... Gotta admit, it was a little rough when it got to Piccolo. First I was like "where the fuck was he...?", then I was like "...shit... he's gone just like that". Anyway, I thought that episode was great, aside from the corny moments with the earthlings.

I thought GT handled its emotional moments very well. The scene with Piccolo and Gohan is pretty touching.

So after Piccolo's final farewell, things escalated... almost immediately. Myu and Gero team up and create another 17. And the one that already existed... just shows up. I'm lost. Apparently 17's true potential needed "unlocking". Wasn't really aware of that.

Either way, I love Super 17's design if nothing else. He lacks personality though, he's actually less of the 17 he was, and that one wasn't really much.

Oh, and Goku's rematch with Freeza and Cell... could have not happened. So dumb. One, that one episode looked terrible. Cell's face... was some bullshit. Two, both Freeza and Cell were just... not the cool villains they were, it was painful. The episode afterwards, the one where both 17s fused looked better, courtesy of my favorite studio. They still have major proportion issues going on, and I don't know if it was to add to the comic relief, or lack of caring.

Goku just got back to Earth, and he's ready to go.

So the Super 17 fight was the shortest. The whole Arc was like 4-5 episodes lol. The end of the fight was just... ehh... Deals with SSJ4 with ease, then gets done in by 18 and a weakened Goku. Don't get it.

I just finished watching the first 3 shadow dragon fights. The first 2 were stupid. The third one was silly, but at least it looked cool. Fight was well choreographed. I like Liu Xing Long (or whatever), she... or he seems cool.

I love ending songs 3 and 4, can't decide which one is better.
