Excellent post. Look, Kanzenshuu at one time simply did not allow you to post "Hercule" or "Frieza" but now you can, I'd imagine because this place grew beyond that and wants to show acceptance to all fans (even of the "evil" Funimation dub). So let's not police the fans on what version of the names they use.

OH! And people who look down on you for liking the dub! They keep saying toonami and funimation ruined dragonball, when really all it did was make it, and anime BOOM in the west. I don't care if you dislike rock music/faulconer and hate goku sounding like a man. "Goku sounding like a man is non canon! The canon version is the female voice! You're just a scrub!" If you hate it so much then either change the track to the japanaese score, or watch the subs. Either way shut up and stop attacking the dub like a weaboo. because all the "DUB IS CANCER!" stuff is so stupid it hurts. It's like when you see someone say George Lucas ruined star wars, or that'd it'd be better if he was never born and Irvin kershner never had to deal with him. It's one letter though....doesn't change how it's pronounced. Also I find the name Tien much better then TEN. Like what? Where's his brothers nine, eight and seven?

Fans who are can't accept that the main audience of Dragon Ball is children. More specifically young boys. Yeah, Dragon Ball can be enjoyed by anyone, but ultimately the audience that Toei/Toriyama/Bandai are aiming for is children.

It kinda does. His name isn't Ten though, it's Tenshinhan. And the name change really serves no purpose other then to give him a last name, it's like changing Yamuchas name to Yama Cha.

Hate to break it to ya, but some of those games apply to more than Dragon Ball Z. I don't mind using it as a general term for casual to non-fans, but still. Also, "Dragon Ball Z Xenoverse".

You mis understand. I don't attack people for liking the original, I just don't like people who attack people for liking a version other then their own preference. I'm not upset they prefer the Japanese version, I'm upset they have to attack people who like the dub.

I just prefer those 2 dub names. That's me though.

And I don't go around attacking people if that's what u think. I only call people a weaboo if they start a first attack and act like a weaboo(someone who will attack people for liking the dub and be Japanese version eletists).

Weaboo is a good term. Just don't use it wrong, which you're not noticing that I'm not doing. As I didn't call anyone a weaboo accept the people I'm referring to who will attack people for liking the dub. I mean if there was someone attacking someone for liking the Japanese version and being a dub eleitist, I'd call them a westaboo. Like what you like, just don't attack people. I don't really mind that many dub differences, and I by all means welcome any well informed Dragonball fan but, Tenshinhan flows a lot better than Tien Shinhan for me. The extra syllable added in Tien Shinhan just throws things off and sounds awkward.

Being a weeaboo doesn't mean a person who attacks english dubs of anime or even disparages people because they prefer them. A weeaboo is a person who is obsessed with Japanese culture and has this myth in their head of Japan being all the ultimate culture wonderland with nothing wrong with it. They throw in little Japanese words in their sentences to be cute when they really don't know them and look down on others who don't. And I don't think it's right for you to just call someone that if they don't like your version of an anime. If they attack someone, call them ignorant or arrogant but weeaboo is not the right term to use in that situation.

I'm not a big fan of the sub exclusive names. Taikoen for example sounds to much like kaioken.

What I put into a lot of parentheses there I agree with, but you should re read my messages....Because I wasn't doing that. My message was the exact opposite of that. Go read it. I was saying those who HARRASS OTHERS FOR NOT AGREEING WITH SUB>DUB ARE WEABOOS. Big difference from just hating on them for not liking what I like.

If that's correct, then I used the words right. Someone who goes around bashing dub fans for liking the dub is in fact a weaboo. So I don't believe I'm using it wrong, if I am I'm not seeing it. I think bashing someone for liking sub OR dub is childish and douchey. Like if one version is so much better and the other sucks, then don't waste your time looking up GT or kai or super videos just to leave hate. The fans are gonna see it and be offended. I hate rap music, so I just avoid rap. I don't go to rap videos and interact with people I wont have naything but a fight with. There's no logic behind that.

One thing about this fandom that really does grind my gears is the misconception that there is a singular "English version" of the franchise. Yes, the US dub is an English version - but so are the subs, the US released manga, and several other English dubs of various levels of quality. All of these are in English! None of these are any more official or any more English than another.

I thought weaboos attack people for liking the dub. I'm not saying you cant prefer Japanese culture and not be a jerk. Tones of people here are respectfull about their separate opinion from my own. I'm always seeing the word used like this. Perhaps I'm using it wrong, kind of like how people use the word insanity as in the same thing as crazy. If I am, then my bad.
