I believe he used 10x Kaioken.

The moment he took a bite of the Shinseijuu fruit, he completely dominated everyone, including Kaio-ken x20 Son-Goku. Fighting brickwalls with massive attack strength is all but rare as far as superbosses go.
I'm pretty sure Son doesn't use the twenty-times in the Tullece film.
I'm going to watch both the Funi and original versions to verify this, because I'm pretty sure he did.
He uses the ten-times.

Having just checked clips online, I found that the original version uses x10, but the dub, in fact, seems to have him shouting x20.

My mistake (and theirs, really). I had just watched the Funi version Friday morning.

My final Goku Stats (no equipment):

HP: 4020
Ki: 998
Power: 211
Defense: 210
Recovery: 199
Technique: 199
Speed: 199
Luck: 199

According to this FAQ these are Goku's default final stats without any sort of bonus points.

HP: 3220
Ki: 878
Power: 208
Defense: 205
Recovery: 111
Technique: 191
Speed: 191
Luck: 107

If I wanted to be an omnipotent jerk and give him Broli's necklace, his stats would be:

HP: 4020
Ki: 998
Power: 261
Defense: 260
Recovery: 249
Technique: 249
Speed: 249
Luck: 249

I notice from those stats that you really focused on Recovery and Luck. I've have been focusing on Power and Luck with the idea that if I kill them quickly enough, nothing else really matters. Is there a general consensus on what the important stats are and what the useless stats are, if any?

Technique is generally considered the most important stat from what I've heard. Although some people argue that certain characters benefit from a different focus; Yamucha with power over technique, for example.

I've just placed my points into whatever attributes were lowest after leveling up in an attempt to make everyone as well-rounded as possible, which is what I always do in these types of games.

It may not be the best or most effective way to play, but I'm almost to Raditz (yeah, I'm slow d^^; ), and I haven't had any trouble yet.

I'm even slower - I'm just about to get the honey from the old lady (already have the egg). I know that generally in JRPGs, Attack/Power/Strength/etc is the stat to raise since it basically means you can kill the enemies way quicker, thus taking less damage and therefore making defence less of an issue. Some RPGs, like Persona 4, are different in that Defence is really important whereas your Strength is near-pointless since most attacks are made by your persona (with its own stats). On top of that, physical attacks are usually preferable to magic ones because they're free and therefore will be used far more often.

Luck seems to be potentially important in this game since it seems to raise the chance of criticals as well as the chance of the characters doing extra attacks in their basic (free) combo. I can see how Technique would be useful since it apparently affects accuracy and ki-attack power but since their use is limited, I don't know if their sufficiently more damaging than physical hits to make it worthwhile, especially if high Luck means you'll be getting extra hits and criticals often.

Although I always used to go for well-rounded characters, since I saw how effective min-maxing could be (thanks to games like Ragnarok Online) I've found it hard not to do it.

Yeah, Power and Defense were already super high to start with. Technique and Speed were higher than Recovery and Luck, so I used those free-to-distribute points from leveling up to round out Recovery and Luck so that I would have well-sounded stats for the most part.

Huh. Still haven't gotten this game... haven't properly played any other console other than my 360 for a while... though it seems this would be worth dusting off the DS for!

I have put in 8+ hours in owning the game since Friday, and stopped for two days. This is how I always imagined a DBZ (though really Kai) game. It's just like old school Dragon Quest, and Final Fantasy.

Although I think it has one major draw back. Goku is freakin insanely to powerful. I have yet to die playing as Goku, or even see him die, until after the fight with Raditz (which I'm about to start). The other characters seem to bite the dust easier.

I am editing this, kin is a word...my bad.

"Kin" is very much a word.
Merriam-Webster wrote:1 : a group of persons of common ancestry : clan
2 a : one's relatives : kindred b : kinsman <he wasn't any kin to you — Jean Stafford>
3 archaic : kinship
It makes perfect sense in the context, although it does sound a little awkward.

Erm....it actually makes perfect sense in that context. Are you sure you've never heard it? The word "kin" is in tons of novels, movies etc.

Just a suggestion... I vote people invest in a dictionary, or Google.

It's nice that you think that, and also nice that you think the original version of your post was better than a moderator's attempt at providing helpful grammar improvements. But the majority obviously disagrees with you.

This is getting too off-topic, though. Everyone go back to playing your DS for 25th Anniversary Day!

I forgot to scan a few bosses - is there any chance to rescan them or is there some other way to get the scan data, for example, a guy that sells you Enemy List entries or something?

I think if you don't scan them, you're out of luck.

Is it just me or does the portraits of characters in cutscenes sometimes flicker with like white bar on them? It's kind of annoying but thankfully doesn't happen that often.
