No confirmation about the character names at Jump Festa?

That's right; they're two completely different names.alakazam^ wrote:I think that was Planet "Suiitsu".Sandubadear wrote:Herms, is Monaca's 'Planet Wagashi' the same 'Planet Sweets' from chapter 6?

Re: Super's manga by Toyotarō
Does Toriyama just love having tests before his tournaments? We started with qualifying rounds, then we had punching machines, and now paper tests. Something big may come of the paper tests, but it seems like another way for Toriyama to sneak some gags in before the action begins like he did with tournament tests in the past.
Re: Super's manga by Toyotarō
I'm calling it right now, the debut of Super Saiyan Purple at some point in the tournament! Seriously though, three days training in the time chamber just has to produce something big.
Re: Super's manga by Toyotarō
There's a lil problem with SS Purple though:Barunks wrote:I'm calling it right now, the debut of Super Saiyan Purple at some point in the tournament! Seriously though, three days training in the time chamber just has to produce something big.

And all shades of sea/blue-green color have already been reserved by Bulma (and soon Bra). They can't really keep knocking lazy out recolors forever and calling it "brilliant simplicity", there's no colors left distinct enough that aren't already utilized. Only White/Gray/Silver really which would be indistinguishable in manga format from standard blond of SSJ...

Or they could, y'know, stop with the transformations.

Re: Super's manga by Toyotarō
Its just a matter of time until Goku gets SSB2/SSB3. If he can use his god ki to power up his ssj, I don't see any reasons for not power up his other two forms.
But it would be overkill, for both his body and opponent.
There's no reason for both not being blue too. I just don't want any more colors. Its enough.
But what Goku desperately needs is new techniques. I wish they would made his ryuken canon. It always was one of my favourite moves.

A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.

Hell no, the transformations need to either piss off entirely or be completely changed up from the recolors we've got now. And no, Toriyama's simplicity thing isn't subversive or surprising anymore, him doing the exact opposite would be surprising.Barunks wrote:I'm calling it right now, the debut of Super Saiyan Purple at some point in the tournament! When someone tells you, "Don't present your opinion as fact," what they're actually saying is, "Don't present your opinion with any conviction. Because I don't like your opinion, and I want to be able to dismiss it as easily as possible." Don't fall for it.

Re: Super's manga by Toyotarō
With the latest merch sales revenue exploding thanks to new transformations and designs? Ain't gonna happen. If Toei ever had any doubts, Kai + Super proved once again that knocking out new powerups is the way to get the merch sales and licensing going.Doctor. wrote:Or they could, y'know, stop with the transformations.
Re: Super's manga by Toyotarō
While I see where you're coming from I wouldn't be surprised if there was a push to have a super saiyan transformation totally unique to Dragon ball Super. SSG and SSGSS are technically DBZ transformations since they were in the movies first. But yeah, I used to think SSJ3 and 4 was excessive once upon a time...Doctor. wrote:Or they could, y'know, stop with the transformations.

Just keep having the transformations replace the other ones. Chair the hair and aura colors every time a new form is needed for story purposes. It's nothing fancy but prevents clutter, like we had during the Majin Buu arc.Doctor. wrote:Or they could, y'know, stop with the transformations.
Re: Super's manga by Toyotarō
We're out of colors. Any shade of purple and sea-green/blue-green is out of the question, they're too prominent on 2 main characters. All shades of red, pink, magneta and crimson, blone and black are already in use.JulieYBM wrote:Just keep having the transformations replace the other ones. We have grass-green and brown left as options, both would look horrible

Re: Super's manga by Toyotarō
Maybe it'll be that Universe 6 Saiyan that has a new transformation? He looks very simple and small, so he could have a SSJ4-like transformation - not in the sense of the SSJ4 design itself, just some new design that makes him look bigger and more aggressive.Barunks wrote:I'm calling it right now, the debut of Super Saiyan Purple at some point in the tournament! I think white is the really the only possible option left.
After all, green is Brolli's color.

I'd like to see U6 saiyan just straight up go SSJ4. If we can see some SSJ4 vs Blue action my inner child will dance all day; provided the fight was entertaining of course.Neon Z wrote:Maybe it'll be that Universe 6 Saiyan that has anew transformation? Wow, we are out of colors.
I guess they could just do blueper saiyan in ssj2 and ssj3 then.
Re: Super's manga by Toyotarō
Let's hope not, especially blue SSJ3, it would look awful. The orange/mandarin-red clashes with it enough in SSB1 form already, even more hair in SSJ3 would just make it look ever worse. Vegeta's outfit was changed appropirately and it's a subtle change, but they can't suddnely make all outfits gray. Goku's stuff would have to be heavily redesigned. I'm not really sure anything can be done to make it fit with the gigantic wig SSJ3 sports if it was in cyan shade...Chuquita wrote:
