It was One Piece's car, too. Looks like Kai lost it in the divorce.

Re: Toriko animated series takes Kai's timeslot in April?!
You know, somebody mentioned the 100 episode rumor from back in 2008, a couple of pages back. Maybe the rumor was true from the start, and Toei never planned to do the Boo arc? After all, it's not like Toei ever said the Boo arc was getting the Kai treatment. Maybe there isn't any "cancellation" going on at all?

According to Toei Animation, this re-edited version is planned to be broadcast until the final episode (*of Z or manga, probably).mainichi.jp wrote:東映アニメーションによると、再編集版もサイヤ人編から最終回まで放送する予定という。

I agree with the sentiments that blaming Toriko is...not good, at all. It's the Dragon Ball fandom's fault for not supporting Dragon Ball Kai (or, arguably, Dragon Ball in general) and it's Toei's fault for not supplying the fans with a product they wished to support. Notice how Toriko has nothing to do with the blame. At all.

Of course, taken a certain way, isn't that's kind of a tautology? No matter where they'd stop, that would have to be the final episode.kei17 wrote:http://megalodon.jp/2010-0203-0301-35/m ... 1000c.htmlAccording to Toei Animation, this re-edited version is planned to be broadcast until the final episode (*of Z or manga, probably).mainichi.jp wrote:東映アニメーションによると、再編集版もサイヤ人編から最終回まで放送する予定という。

Yeah, that's exactly what I was thinking when I read that. So...weird. O.oHerms wrote:Of course, taken a certain way, isn't that's kind of a tautology? Sorry, that was a bad translation. It says Kai begins from the Saiyan arc, and air until the end of the story, which means the end of the Buu arc.Herms wrote:Of course, taken a certain way, isn't that's kind of a tautology? Re: Toriko animated series takes Kai's timeslot in April?!
Yeah, but they don't flat-out mention the Boo arc, so technically wherever Kai ends would be the end of the story...of Kai. Oh forget it, it was just supposed to be a dumb joke.kei17 wrote:Sorry, that was a bad translation. Well, that's that. Kai's ending after the Cell arc.
Oh, I see episode 96 has a title. Here's my translation:
"Let Our Powers Unite! The Mightiest And Final Kamehame-Ha"

Obviously the Buu arc won't be "Kai", it will be called something else...
Right?
Right?

Re: Toriko animated series takes Kai's timeslot in April?!
It damn well better...or Funi better dip in their wallets and pay Toei to give them footage/music/scripts to dub...or they better redub all the original anime...something, dammit! Considering that the series is doing well over here, and might do well in other countries, why are they throwing away additional revenue? Just because the toy/game sales are down, and the DVDs aren't meeting peak results? It's still doing better than most anime...Just another reason to make me hate Toei for being lazy, cheap bastards who cancel series I love...penguintruth wrote:Obviously the Buu arc won't be "Kai", it will be called something else...

Unfortunately, shows are often left with cliffhanger (Like Mortal Kombat Conquest) But,i still have hope for new English dub of Buu Saga,i mean,if Saban could pay Toei to make new fighting footage for their MMPR,then i dont see why similar thing couldnt happen with Kai

Re: Toriko animated series takes Kai's timeslot in April?!
I never really got into Kai much anyways, even though I love the way FUNi dubbed it this time around (for the most part). To me, it helped bring a new generation of Dragon Ball fans... maybe down the road I will buy the sets on Blu-Ray, but as for now I will catch the episodes on Nicktoons and on sites I won't mention to watch them when necessary.
And who knows, maybe demand from other territories (and money of course) would change Toei's mind and continue onto the Boo arc. Only time will tell.

I think Tom Dubois of "The Boondocks" said it best for me when FUNimation announced the release of the domestic Dragonbox, after buying all of the Season Sets: "MOTHERFUCK!!! SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT, PRICKS, SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIIIIIIIT!"

Man, this is really a shame. I was looking forward to see the Buu Saga get Kai treatment.
But I don't think it's completely hopeless, even though it's obvious that Kai will not be continuing next month, who knows, they might get around to doing it in another year?

Glad it's over. They should have FMA Brother-hooded it and redrawn everything... Toei, you cheap bastards. You get what you paid for I guess.
Re: Toriko animated series takes Kai's timeslot in April?!
Could someone be so kind as to answer a few questions for me? I'm going to be in Japan for vacation from March 22 - March 28, and I want to catch its "final" episode while I'm there.
What day does Dragonball Kai air on in Japan?
What channel?
And at what time?
You have to forgive these simple questions, but I don't keep up with Kai at all. I just think it would be nice to see an episode live while in Japan.

Just go to "Kanzentai". They have a countdown for each Kai episode.Drabaz wrote:Could someone be so kind as to answer a few questions for me? I'm going to be in Japan for vacation from March 22 - March 28, and I want to catch its "final" episode while I'm there.

And Kai airs at Fuji TV.
