I liked the part where Piccolo beat Gohan until his eye swelled shut.

That was adorable and chibi tee hee

Yes, we know Gohan got the shit beat out of him and for 6 months on end no less.

Yes, not everything was literally puppies and rainbows but really, why is there a need to apply what happens in the series in conjunction to whatever the fanart is based off of? Isn't it more simple to just sit back, enjoy the art for what is is and just move on?

The fanart is meant to be humorous, hell I've posted plenty of fanart in the previous pages featuring Gohan in that outfit and nobody voiced anything against them.

If you are wanting me to post some serious fanart, then just ignore pretty much 98% of the images I post here then.

Now then...

Not liking the coloring much but it does look nice.

Because I hate how many people overlook the actual abuse that happened and portray them as being all cutesy and affectionate.

So you'd rather see artwork of Piccolo beating Gohan then? That being the more realistic thing that actually happened.

And as I've said before, it's meant to be humorous so why is there a need to apply what happens in the series to the artwork itself? It's like posting some artwork of Chi-Chi, Goku, Gohan and a Baby Goten, to which somebody makes a reply that says "Goku was already dead. Never happened. It sucks".

Um, no. I don't know why you'd draw that kind of conclusion.

That's not at all what it's like (and the second one isn't humorous at all).

Seeing fanart glossing over that and acting like everything is puppies and rainbows is sickening.
Um, no. I don't know why you'd draw that kind of conclusion.
You are making it sound as if it's personally offended you in a way.

From what I've seen, you just gloss over the art itself trying to think of when it takes place, what should be happening and just disliking it all-together without actually taking a fair look at the art itself and not thinking about the extra details.

"Saiyan Saga Gohan and Piccolo being cutesy and not doing what they should be doing at that part of the series? IT SUCKS!" - is the impression I'm pretty much getting.

Here's how I see the fanart - "Oh look, Kid Gohan and Piccolo. Gohan showing affection and Piccolo is embarrassed? Haha, nice. *moves on* "

But hey, you are being adamant over something pretty trivial and it's going to stay, so I'm just going to stop any further responses right here and now.

You have horribly misrepresented my position and from that I don't think I could make you understand where I'm coming from, so I'm just going to leave it.

^Fucking awesome.
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.

Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

Goku didn't die in GT. The show sucked him off so much, it was impossible to keep him in the world of the living, so he ascended beyond mortality.

He and Goku destroy them at first notice.

That's not the point Rocketman was bringing up. Venus is closer to the sun than earth, so you can't see it at night. If Vegeta blew up Venus, the resultant "shooting stars" would be visible from Earth's day side, not Earth's night side.
