Goku's whole body gets a shade of red, why wouldn't that include the hair?

Toriyama doesn't care to have consistency in the colors, he just adds the colors that would look good colored.rereboy wrote:Goku's hair is back. Black is a color used in the limited color pages. Toriyama was free to combine the color red and black however he felt like in that chapter since he used both in the chapter, including to color Goku's hair as black whenever he wasn't using Kaioken. So no, I'm afraid you are incorrect.

Kaioken has always been consistent whenever he colored it. So that's a non-issue regarding Kaioken.DBZGTKOSDH wrote:Toriyama doesn't care to have consistency in the colors, he just adds the colors that would look good colored.rereboy wrote:Goku's hair is back. He colored it in chapter 228 and 229. Not sure if he colored it when he was fighting Freeza. Does it even matter, though? It is consistent, and even the anime (which is the most mainstream, influential and known version of Dragon Ball throughout the world) follows that color scheme almost identically, adding just more shadow.

It wasn't. He colored the hair red, while they remain black in the black & white versions. And since it's a full colored pallet, we can't even know if red is the intended color.rereboy wrote:He colored it in chapter 228 and 229. Not sure if he colored it when he was fighting Freeza.

Re: Interesting or funny pictures thread
Oh, I see... Maybe he intended it to be yellow or white or green or whatever but still colored it red due only to the limited color pallet. Then what's the intended color? Hmm, lets check out the other mediums/versions. Lets see the anime. Oh look, its red. Its an almost identical color scheme as the manga with just more shadow. How about the full colored manga? Ah, its red again, the red tone is just less noticeable and the black more noticeable.DBZGTKOSDH wrote:It wasn't. He colored the hair red, while they remain black in the black & white versions. Then, could it be that there's absolutely nothing to suggest that red isn't the intended color? That in fact everything in every medium of Dragon Ball implies that its red and there's no reason to suddenly doubt that just because the chapter wasn't in full color?
Honestly, I don't even know what you are trying to argue...

They are not colored like that from Toriyama though. We can't know what Toriyama had in his mind. Then what's the intended color? Hmm, lets check out the other mediums/versions. Lets see the anime. My point is that limited-colored pallet pages aren't a good source, because they are not supposed to be the true colors. They are as reliable as the black & white pages.

Re: Interesting or funny pictures thread
Your point is mute since every other source for Kaioken's colors also uses red as its color and follows Toriyama's color scheme pretty closely. That's why I stated that I don't even know what you are trying to argue. At this point you are just arguing for the point of arguing, and your arguments have no real relevance for what was being discussed.DBZGTKOSDH wrote:They are not colored like that from Toriyama though. Guys, this is a funny pictures thread. All this SSJG and Kaioken talk is off-topic and is essentially derailing the thread. I really dont wanna call Vegito in here so can we move this talk to another thread or to pm's? If you insist on continuing at least post a funny picture with it.

And like I said, the other sources are not Toriyama. Maybe they just saw the limited colored picture & chose red. Maybe Toriyama suggested it. The other sources are this: other sources. You can't say that Karin is white in the original manga, because he isn't. He is blue/brown. In the colored manga & the anime, he is white. Same for Kaio-ken. Its color is unknown in the original manga, but we know that it's red in the colored manga & the anime. The Kamehameha is white in the original manga, yellow in the colored manga, and blue in the anime. And so on.

Seriously take this some where else. Not to mini mod again but this is a FUNNY picture topic(Or Interpreting) not the colors of the Dragonball characters.DBZGTKOSDH wrote:And like I said, the other sources are not Toriyama. Re: Interesting or funny pictures thread
I'm sorry, was i talking about Karin's colors? Or the Kamehameha? I was talking about Kaioken which is consistently red in every medium and consistently follows Toriyama's color scheme everywhere. You would have a point if Kaioken wasn't consistent everywhere. But it is. So, what are you trying to argue? And what does that have to do with Kaioken, SSJG and Sonic's red form being similar in appearance?
. Short answer: it has nothing to do with it. Like I said, at this point you are just arguing for the sake of arguing. So I will end my participation in this offtopic here.

It's just that the Kaio-ken we see in the manga shouldn't be used as an example of a colored picture.rereboy wrote:I'm sorry, was i talking about Karin's colors? Or the Kamehameha? Re: Interesting or funny pictures thread
And I pointed out that the colors used in the manga are consistent, that the author had full use of the original color of Goku's hair if he didn't want it to glow red, and that every other source of Kaioken colors (since you believe the limited color page is not a good source) also follows the color scheme of that chapter, coloring it red. That's way more than enough to give validity to that color scheme. And yet you continued to argue...DBZGTKOSDH wrote:It's just that the Kaio-ken we see in the manga shouldn't be used as an example of a colored picture.rereboy wrote:I'm sorry, was i talking about Karin's colors?
