Did you buy a bunch so you could sell them? If so you have a definate customer here.

They wouldn't happen to have english subtitles? Would they?

No, they were for people who'd sent him tapes or DVDs of specific dubs from around the world that he wanted. 1 dub = 1 Special DVD.

And I think I can spot the one with my name on it... :D

Has the drought of no new Dragon Ball animation all these years lowered fans' expectations *that* much?
Even though they're still shots, they looked nice. And I'm assuming the choppiness is on purpose for the effect of slow-motion. I for one am in love with the faux-colored pencil look they gave various shots.

I don't understand how you don't like the song, but whatever floats your boat. I find it catchy and I can't stop humming it.

I'm with ya! I was very disappointed to see another still image menu with no audio at all. It's very boring, and the menu doesn't even look that great.

Actually, I think the reason it's choppy may be due to how the clips were ripped.
No, that's just how it is. It's animated so that it looks like the characters fade from one frame to the next, so I don't know if I'd really call it choppy. And for the record, when people have been referring to the animation, I believe they mean the ending animation as a whole, not that the animated scenes themselves are spectacular. Personally, I love the background art in this ending animation! And the character designs are nice and consistent. They even show the development of Goku's "love" for Chi Chi and their growth as a family.

So that's what they look like... I'm not liking the white cases, but whatever.
Captain Awesome wrote:Just watched the song, I found it really enjoyable, it didn't feel that much like a Dragonball song, but it still made me feel a little sentimental.
Sentimental is a good way to put it. I think that's what they were shooting for, and it worked for me.
SSj Gogito wrote:They wouldn't happen to have english subtitles? Would they?
No, and I don't really see why they would, it's a Japan-only release like the Dragon Boxes. Most people in Japan don't care if they have English subtitles or not.

I just put up the DVD introduction video, if anyone's interested. Nothing spectacular, but it's a neat little 17 second clip.

Image

Also, since people seem to really like the ending, and are stealing it, I've gone ahead and slapped the Kanzentai.com logo onto all of the videos. :) In hindsight, I probably should have done that to begin with, but I was too excited and forgot. Anyway, I've taken all of the old videos down, so here are the new links...

DVD Intro @ YouTube
Orange Hero w/ Credits @ YouTube
Non-credit Orange Hero @ YouTube
CHA-LA HEAD-CHA-LA (Jump Anime Tour Animation) @ YouTube

And for everyone that has been asking, here are some direct downloads. Right now they're hosted on Kanzentai, so grab them while they're hot, because I'm not sure how long I'll leave them up.

Orange Hero w/ Credits @ Kanzentai - 16.4 MB (H.264)
Non-credit Orange Hero @ Kanzentai - 16.4 MB (H.264)

To be fair, Vegeta's life as a whole isn't nearly as beautiful or picturesque as Goku's. What's there to show? The time Vegeta ripped out some random alien's spine? That otherwise slow evening where he committed genocide of an innocent species? I think Goku's backstory and history lends itself much better to this style of ending than Vegeta's.

But yeah, that's a great ending. I especially like the picture of Goku, Chichi, Gohan, and Goten together; it's rare that you get to see the Sons together as a family of four. I wish that aspect had gotten a bit more attention within the series.

I am actually drooling over those DVD shots. I am seriously jealous, You don't understand.

I hope these DVD's go flooding onto Ebay sometime soon. Anybody else fancy writing some begging letters to Funimation? Me want... Now...

Cool, but the song doesn't do it for me. Just sounds like a generic modern song to me, doesn't make me think of DragonBall like Head Cha La or Dan Dan does. Besides the fact that it's Japanese, I would expect to hear similar sounding music/style of singing on the radio or something. Which is fine, other than I don't like most modern music. But the images were neat so I give the video aspect a thumbs up.

And of course, being a dubbie, I still have my fingers crossed that they'll dub and release this stateside...As long as they don't use Faulconer's music. I enjoyed it for DBZ fights, but not for things that aren't serious, such as this.

*thinks of watching DragonBall if it had Faulconer and cringes*

Beg and plead with kei17 and offer him pornographic beverages.

Because other than that, there's virtually no way to get ahold of it.

So do I understand these are only available by mail-in order? Because I easily have no problem of ordering from online Japanese sources.

The only way to get it was through an issue of Shonen Jump published late last year, I believe.
