And Yamucha's short-lived career was filler. Toriyama-suggested filler but filler nonetheless.

Hyperbole...

Oh, sorry. I never thought about it like that. I've just always been calling him Seru for so long and now I'm used to it.johnboy1 wrote:Well, I don't know if that was supposed to be Lunch or not, but my point was he used Seru instead of Cell. I don't need to know a lick of Japanese to tell you how ridiculous that is. Seru, while technically correct, is the romanization of the Japanese pronunciation of an English word. Therefore, the proper English name would be THE ENGLISH WORD. It's like Hellsing fans using "Arucard" instead of "Alucard". I'll give you a hint: Bram Stoker's novel wasn't called "Dracura". Just because a name is used in a Japanese work does not inherently make it Japanese.
EDIT:I suddenly realize that you probably weren't talking to me. Sorry about the nerd rage.
Oh, and that is Lunch because in the shot just before that when she's walking you can make out it definitely is her.

Anyone willing to translate it?EnmaDaiou wrote:Here's the scan..
I can read japanese..
But I think I'm not able to make a good translation to english.
It's better someone who understand japanese and is fluent in english to help with a translation to know exactly what is said...
Re: Did Lunch EVER find Tenshinhan?
Not to go too far off-topic, but to be fair, isn't there the possibility that Seru can be translated as "Sell" (in order to be a pun on Cell, instead of the exact word)?SylentEcho wrote:Oh, sorry. Could just be another one of Toriyama's reused character designs. Other random characters in the series bear resemblances to the main characters.Silver Sinspawn wrote:Umm... If she didn't appear, what's this?

Except apparently the writing behind her says something like Lunch Express.
Oh, you think the Grand Tour is your ally, you merely stepped into the Grand Tour. I was born in it, moulded by it. I didn’t see the Super until I was already a man; by then, it was nothing to me but blinding!

That was, course, mean to be Launch considering the episode was Goku's friends helping him with Majin Buu.
Something I was thinking... is odd nobody ever asked Tenshinhan if he ever saw Launch. Krillin even knew she went after him.

I can see a fork on that vehicle, and a fork and knife logo on that woman's jacket. "Lunch Express" -- perhaps it's a food delivery truck or something, and the character in the picture was meant to look like Lunch as a joke.Silver Sinspawn wrote:Except apparently the writing behind her says something like Lunch Express.
Besides, I don't see Lunch taking on a career anyway, not when she turns into her blonde form. I know she calmed down in the later parts of the series, but even so, I don't see Blonde Lunch taking on a career as a food delivery girl.

It is a filler scene. They can do whatever they want.
