Think about it this way, they probably have a budget sanctioned to each show. Kai probably has a significantly lower budget than something like One Piece, because it's just a remastered, recut version of a show that has already had all the hard work finished. So when somebody says that they can't afford this or that voice actor, it may not be because Kai is not profitable, or that Kai is dangerously close to being canceled. It probably has more to do with the fact that those in charge of the budget are in fact wasting it all on idols and stupid gimicks.
That makes sense to me, anyway.
I definitely agree with this. I think every financial worry we've heard has been in reference to "going over budget" as opposed to "actually losing money."
If they can't turn a profit with
Dragon Ball, I have a hard time believing Toei can make money on essentially anything other than
One Piece.

Exactly. I have a feeling that it's less of "OMG, can we afford this guy?" and more of "Does it really make sense to spend THIS MUCH on a minor character's VA, when it only costs THAT MUCH to make the show in the first place?"

Because Gohan didn't truly go beyond Super Saiyan and kill Cell, right?

Your second point has no grounding because there is NO evidence that Akira Toriyama had intended to end the series at the Freeza arc. NONE. And this has been debated a lot, also on the podcast this has been addressed quite a few times.
You may be correct about my second point having no grounding by itself, but if it has been debated a lot, and it had to be addressed a few times, that means there are people out there (in large numbers) who believe it, and that would lead to this being a reason why they may not believe the Boo saga would be covered. Correct?
Haha, yes, correct. But you stated it as fact that that was at one point an issue for Akira Toriyama. But still, we're narrowing down to legitimate reasons for why Kai may not cover the Buu arc. So... the reason why people may think it's not going to, alright, that's true, it is a reason people might think that. But it's not true. So we have debunked that right away

As far as I know the only thing that stands in the way of the Boo arc is whether or not they can afford it financially.
As long as they don't hire another cheezy idol group who blanatanly panders to Otaku, they'll be able to afford it.

Well, he did, but if the story continues then it's just the lowest point of a long saga that then got better. If it's the ending, then it's completely unsatisfying.

No love for Gohan huh?

When I played the first DBZ Budokai till the end I actually thought Dragonball Z ended with Gohan killing Cell and I was quite satisfyed with that for some reason.
I will be dissapointed, if they don't cover the entirety of Z though, that would be kinda unfullfilling.

Yep. I got my "Rainbow: Nisha Rokubou no Shichinin" OST from there, arrived really quick, in like a week.
EDIT: Plus, when you join, you get about 300 points that can take a couple dollars off your first purchase.

I think adding Majin Buu Saga to Dragonball Z Kai was a good decision and there is no Dragonball Z without Majin Buu, Gotenks and Vegito including Super Saiya-jin 3 Goku.
Sean Schemmel won't have to scream for 5 minutes for Super Saiya-jin 2 Goku transforming into Super Saiya-jin 3 Goku.

You said you thought adding the Buu saga to Dragon Ball Kai was a good decision, yet we were debating if they actually WERE going to do it. And that is because there has been no reliable evidence to support that Dragon Ball Kai is going to cover the Buu arc, ergo you have NOT read the thread.

There is reliable evidence. It's called
common sense. Also known as
not being an idiot.

That will hold up in court, yeah. No, okay, yeah, that's being an ass, I'm sorry. But no one has actually given hard evidence, and common sense isn't really something to bet on in this case as far as I'm concerned. I guess it would be logical of course, but nothing's actually been confirmed and SSJ4_Sankuto stated as if it was already fact.
That being said, they will probably cover it, but I think there is a chance that it won't be. Just don't pretend it's already been set in stone and I'm already fine with it

Kai -> More manga faithful version of the anime
Buu arc -> major arc of the manga
Common sense -> Buu arc will be in Kai

Yet, they did remove a few scenes that were in the manga :/ I agree that it's sort of common sense, but you're all taking it for granted so easily. Common sense or not, it hasn't been confirmed

Seriously, one or two skipped scenes isn't the same as skipping the final arc of the manga! <_<
How hard is that to understand? They have no reason to skip a whole portion of the manga. And even if they do, I wouldn't be surprised if Funi got them to give them a cleaned up Buu saga if they spent a little bit extra for it. Considering DB is Funi's golden idol cash cow, I wouldn't be surprised if they would if need be.
