There were certain episodes where I thought they over did the removal of certain filler/padding.. Some of the best examples I can think of are the Saiyan arc, where we really didn't get as much character development from Gohan, and right before Vegeta and Nappa arrived I didn't get the same anticipation, which was great in Z.'' they're finally here''
So I don't really miss specific filler, But some things just go by so fast, it reduces the impact of some scenes like Trunks VS Freeza. Things I'll never miss are the filler arcs like fake Namek and Garlic jr.
Filler you miss...
Re: Filler you miss...
Ditto. And everyone trying to help Gohan against Cell. That filler always seemed more true to the core of the characters involved than the actual Manga scene. How many of those fillers, sans the Baseball idea, actually came from Toriyama?Innagadadavida wrote:Anything with the humans. I miss Tenshinhan, Krillin, and Yamcha climbing Karin's tower. I miss their training. I miss Yamcha playing baseball. I miss Lunch chasing Tenshinhan down, and coming across Upa and Bora. I miss the Earthlings dominating the Ginyu force on King Kai's planet.
Actually, I don't miss them at all because I have the Dragon Boxes... Or wait... Will have Volume 1 soon. Why do I have 2 and 3 but not 1?
Is it really that clear? I don`t recall lines of dialogue indicating that, and they didn`t seemed to be that close to the blasts. I don`t know, i would think Toryama would at least have added some dialogue about it. Let us know that they were at least trying to do something. Granted, the whole scene does not last as much as it does in the anime, but hey..Rocketman wrote:The thing is, in the manga it's not that they don't help, it's that they can't. The blast of the Kamehamehas colliding knocks everybody away, and just as they're all standing up again, Vegeta intervenes.Cold Skin wrote:I think in that case, it's eventually a same scene, but with an alternate interpretation: instead of not moving and watching, they decide to help Gohan.

There are so many things wrong with that sentence.Rocketman wrote:Hercules and the cameraguys get tossed too.
