No, it's very simple to get around that filler.

In the manga, Goku and Vegeta never powered up to get Buu to come to them. Buu just sensed them and appeared, after Vegeta and Goku refused to fuse again.

So, all they would have to do in Kai would be take the starting animation of Buu teleporting in space, and then take the second animation of Buu teleporting before Goku and Vegeta, so it all looks like a smooth process teleporting directly from space to the planet.

Well, how many people liked it is generally irrelevant. Let's look at this logically. Will they skip the Anoyoichi Budoukai? Probably. There's absolutely no justification for keeping it (again, how many people like it is irrelevant). It's self-contained. It's filler. It can be easily cut. So without that, you have, what, one additional scene with Paikuhan, which is also completely filler. Well, if the arc that introduced him is cut, isn't it completely detrimental to just have him randomly show up without any explanation? Unless someone in charge really has enough of a hard-on for Paikuhan to throw that scene in for a random, unexplained cameo, then it's safe to say he's not gonna be around.

I guess Toriyama liked the idea so he decided to include it in the manga. Same thing happened with that pink Kaiô (Was it the West one? I never remember...).

Toriyama actually designed Dai Kaio (and Paikuhan) for the anime staff. And South Kaio appeared in the manga before the Anoyoichi-Budokai filler arc.

I guess if he never appeared in the manga BUT was drawn my Toriyama, I'd still be on the fence [if I hadn't cared i the beginning] but I LOVED his appearance in the filler, so much more depth to the Other World side of things.

Bummer that Goku telling Vegeta to raise his power was filler too., that was pretty smart.

All the dead Yamcha/Kuririn stuff was filler, hence Pai Ku Han being in the background and such during those scenes being filler as well. Same with all the past villians rooting for Buu/Goku from Hell being filler as well.

I'm guessing he'll have to be kept in because he's in some of the canon scenes (like Gregory), though they could conceivably cut down the Anoyoichi Budoukai somewhat, to maybe like, an episode...Gokou meets Dai Kaioh, some Kaioh rivalry, meets Paikuhan, change some dialogue so he gets to train with him without a tourney or just not show the tourney...eh...may be more trouble that way than cutting Paikuhan out of the other interspersed scenes. It's hard to say what'll happen, but I won't mind either way; I kinda enjoyed the little arc.

People, for some reason, SEEM to hate the idea of Pikkon even in the series at all. I thought he was a great addition, filler or not. Better than making up something out of thin air.

But if all he was in was filler, I don't think he will make it.

I don't think anybody, at least in this thread, is HATING Paikuhan. We're simply saying that he has no reason to exist in Dragon Ball Kai.

I agree with both of these posts. As much as I like Pikkon, and as much as I would love to see an excised iteration of the Anoyoichi Budokai mini-arc, I just can't see it happening. There's absolutely no reason for it to be included in Kai.
