Will Pikkon even be in Kai?

I never read the manga so I'm not 100% on what was and was not filler, but I remember that the other world tourny was filler correct? So if all of Pikkon's appearance in the anime was in that filler, will he be cut from the show all together and be an exclusive movie character?

Paikuhan is a completely filler character, so, yeah, odds are he's not going to be in Kai. I mean, he really has no business being in Kai.

I liked his inclusion on the show, it helped give a gauge on how strong he was since he doesn't do all that much fighting in the movie.

But wow thats going to be a huge chuck of the show cut out, I guess thats the point to shorten it down.. That was one of the filler I always enjoyed. I liked seeing what Goku was up to while he was dead and it gave us more depth on the kais and all that.

Sadness for Pikkon, but I see why he will be gone.

Five. Paikuhan's in a few bits of filler during the Majin Boo arc but that should be avoidable.

No, it was just five. #195-199.

It depends. He may end up like Gregory, in that he's so worked into scenes that are actually in canon, it becomes impossible or at least not worth the effort to remove him entirely. The Garlic Jr arc was easily and thankfully skipped, but who knows if the Afterlife Tournament arc will share the same fate. The difference being that it was actually GOOD.

I liked seeing all of the Other Word fights but I see why they would skip them. that's the only filler I would see ever being relivant, anthough I could see why Garlic Jr was in there, but still that wasn't my least favorite filler.

The anime version of Great Saiyaman isn't just filler... it's almost entirely re-written from the ground-up, and I've always been curious how they're going to handle it in Kai. It's the one time the anime really deviates from the manga. I guess the easiest way would be to skip straight to the dinosaur episode. That said, those are some of my favorite episodes in the entire series and one of the few times the anime really took something and ran with it, as well as one of the few times the manga just... well, let's face it... FAILED.

Either way, they need some sort of explaination of him since he shows up in the tournament as Great Saiyaman. Was that the longest part of the anime where there was no fighting or serious training going on? Minus the scene with Trunks going Super Saiyan.

After she blackmails him into the tournament, there's really nothing to skip. (The blackmailing itself takes place in a different location in each version, but is otherwise the same.) Pretty much everything after that is canon: the flying lessons, Goten's power, Super Saiya-jin bargain sale. That's all in the manga.

I don't know the Sub line of Vegeta reacting to Trunks' Superness but I hope the dub was somewhere close so it would stay the same, its one of my fav. lines.

Well, I have no idea what the dub line was, but the original was something along the lines of, "There are far too many of what was once considered a legendary warrior. It's like a Super Saiya-jin bargain sale!"

The dub line is "Did...I miss something? When was it that the transformation into the legendary warrior of the Saiyan race was reduced to a child's play thing?"
Then after a little conversation with Trusnk about if Goten can transform as well he says "yes, naturall...a super saiyan bargain sale."

I'm leaning towards the dub one.
