Okay, but I was mainly addressing Phantom's comment that he never killed anyone. Next time I'll use the quote feature. But it wasn't like I started talking about the Dallas Mavericks or anything.
Did he actually kill those RR guys? It's been a while since I've seen those episodes. I thought it left it up in the air whether he did or not. It's really ambiguous whether he killed anyone or not. At least to me, it is. We all thought he clearly did in Tao Pai Pai, then he shows up at the 23rd Budakai. You could argue that he didn't completely kill Piccolo Damiou due to Ma Junior basically being a reincarnation (with some of his own original thoughts as well) possessing all the same memories and experiences of his father.
Reason I ask about the RR guys, is it seems inconsistent with the way Goku has handled just about every other one of his oppenents (Toriyama even goes out of his way to show that Buu was reincarnated while none of the other non Goku killed villains seem to experience this (or we never see it, but that's my point)). Not that they (the RR) didn't deserve to die, but it's hard to believe especially since Goku seems so nonchalant about the whole thing.

Except that Amy is right...Goku didn't know that Kuririn could be revived. He does come out and say "Kuririn's already been bought back to life once, this time he's going to stay dead". Remember, they didn't go to Namek because they knew that the Namekian balls could revive someone more than once. They only went because the Earth ones had gone, and they couldn't revive anyone at all. Yamcha and Tenshinhan had never died, and so could have been bought back to life with even the Earth balls.Adamas de Diama wrote:The point I was making was that at some point in the fight, Goku didn't worry about Kuririn being stuck in Tengoku, because he knew that he could be revived. So, that's why he didn't have as much incentive to kill Furiza as he did to kill Pikkoro Daimaou.
In fact, I don't think Goku is ever told that the Namekian balls have greater powers (in some ways) than Kami's ones. So, to him, Kuririn was dead, and was staying dead.
How accurate is the manga translation here? I'm not sure if they are being faithful, or having a little joke at FUNI's expense, but when Goku first sees Vegeta's giant ape form, he says "You...you killed my grandpa!" At which point Vegeta calls him an idiot, and then Goku realises the truth.Zackarotto wrote:Yup. FUNimation made it so that Goku figured that Vegeta had traveled to earth, killed Gohan, and travelled back. Goku isn't even that stupid.

Are you referring to Viz's translation? People have said they made a lot of errors initially... In the Japanese version he only says, "Do-dou natte yaga nda!!!! Oozaru no bakemono...!!!" ("What the hell's happened to him!!!! The oozaru monster...!!!") Then Vegeta explains about the 10x power up, Gokuu has a few flashbacks, and then realizes that he killed his own grandpa and busted up the Budoukai.PsyLiam wrote:How accurate is the manga translation here? Moral of the story: Don't post at 3 am. That's when you sleep, woman. Besides, if your sleeping schedules are off, I won't know when the best time is to come and kill you.Jerseymilk wrote:Oh of course! Stupid me!I was thinking his son! Of course it was around three in the morning when I read that!

Yeah. He definitly says "you killed my grandpa" in the Viz version, before realising the truth. But I don't think it's accidental. I'm sure it's a deliberate swipe at FUNi. I haven't got the manga with me at the moment to properly transcribe it, thought.TripleRach wrote:Are you referring to Viz's translation? People have said they made a lot of errors initially... That statement can be interpreted in several different ways. Most of which would get me slapped around the face, so I'll refrain from saying anymore.Jerseymilk wrote:Like I said, if you think you're feel'in lucky enough boy!Drop me a line, I'll make an appointment for ya!
By the way, just so you know, I'm a very light sleeper.
