Right, my original post was a comparison of this dub and the Funi dub anyway.

And going back to that... I never "grew up" with either of these dubs. I never "got accustomed" to either dubs specific brand a terribleness. I got some minor nostalgia for the early Saiyan arc Funi dub using the Ocean actors, as two early DVDs of that was the first I ever saw of the anime, but that's all. Both the Funi dub as a whole and the AB Groupe dub as a whole are just these really piss-poor English dubs of a series I have absolutely no reason or interest in seeing in English in the first place, but have seen bits and pieces of every now and then.

I never said I liked the AB Groupe dub. I don't. It's shit. Anyone with ears and a sense of quality can see that. What amuses me so much, though, is that, since no one really grew up on this shit, there are so many people who grew up on the other, equally shitty, dubs so willing to go out of their way to mock the terribleness of the AB Groupe dub, yet get all defensive if you even try to suggest that it's not any worse (and in many cases better) than the particular shitheap they grew up on, which anyone with ears and a sense of quality should also be able to see as a shit dub, had they not been bogged down with this treacherous nostalgia.

(oh, and Funi's Kai dub? Same miscast actors as before giving the same shitty performances as before, but with an accurate script this time. All I see are a bunch of people so used to these poor character portrayals being so impressed with the accuracy of the dialogue compared to the previous attempt they get all too forgiving. "The script is accurate to the original" is not a "positive", people. It's the least people should expect of a dub)
Off-topic: Wow..just wow. I can literally feel the hate stemming from this post.

on-topic: I really do love He-Man Goku.

I'm mostly familiar with "Big Green" through the random clips scattered throughout Youtube.

The He-Man Goku and SpeedRacerFastTalking tends to give the movie dubs an 80's vibe in a sense that is different from Harmony Gold's DB dubs. It makes me curious about the idea of the whole series being dubbed as if it was from the 80's, with Transformers and Thundercats-style voices to accompany He-Man Goku.... The Creative Products Filipino English Gohan would probably go along with that, sounding very much likes an "80's Boy Scout" archtype.

That all being said, after seeing one of the Speedy VCDs, I can't see Big Green as "bad enough to be funny" anymore. ^^;
