What do you want from a DBZ Movie 15?

If the ending for BOG is really as open-ended as it supposedly is, I'd love to see Birusu and Whis come back. Of course, I have yet to see the movie but I've seen and heard enough to like them.

Re: What do you want from a DBZ Movie 15?
I never really thought of the whole "Seventh Universe" thing as something that was just begging to be expanded on. To me, it just seemed like some of that "Oh, by the way..." type of exposition that Toriyama seems to be fond of. The fact that it also works with the Shonen trope of "there's always someone better out there!" is just a win-win.
If "Battle Of Gods sequel" is the only thing Toei ends up doing, then I don't really have a wish list. Just make it fun and make me smile. I've been enjoying seeing the whole cast in one place, so it'd be cool if they kept doing that so that everyone can have lines. Hell, maybe invite Lunch next time and give Chaozu a sentence or two.
Of course, if you asked me what I really wanted, it'd be a film set in-between DB and DBZ. No Super Saiyans, no hierarchy of Gods, no multiverse. Just another fun, grand adventure featuring the cast of characters I've long wanted to see back in the spotlight.

I hope we will hear something about the next movie by early next year. I would like the next movie to be out by December to release around the 30th anniversary. Maybe Toei can have the movie double bill with the next One Piece movie.

Re: What do you want from a DBZ Movie 15?
I'd like Toriyama to stay as involved as he was on this one, cause he knows what Dragon Ball is like and what it's supposed to convey.
I want to see Birus and Whis come back, but potentially as allies, perhaps to fight a common threat. Whis and Birus could even train Goku and the other warriors.
But what threat could there be so that Birus and Whis choose to join forces with our heroes?! Perhaps another God of Destruction from another universe that has become so fond of destruction that he tries to destruct everything even in other universes, and when he steps into Universe 7 to destroy things, the Gods of Universe 7 don't appreciate the fact that he's stepping in their territory to wreck havoc, going against what's been decided for all universes since the beginning of times...
So they all prepare to fight him with all the help they can get.

Re: What do you want from a DBZ Movie 15?
To be fair. How would you know what's he's thinking? I didn't like BoG either. Doesn't mean I want a movie without a story. Maybe he wanted a better plot.kei17 wrote:It didn't feel like "DBZ" because it was not entirely about heroic Goku gathering power to defeat a bland villain with a nonsensical technique.AjayLikesGaming wrote:In what way didn't it feel like Dragon Ball?sintzu wrote:act like movie 14 never happend and make a movie that actually feels like dbz
He wants yet another movie with no real stories in it.
It's their opinion...most likely exaggerated but still if they don't like it...then they don't like it. Doesn't make thema ny-more or any less of a dbz fan.I get that it's not the film everyone wanted, but if it's easily the 'worst thing ever' to you, I seriously have to wonder what about Dragon Ball you enjoy to begin with.
What do I want for Movie 15:
Better fighting
Some explanations of the 11 other universes(Make OVAs about them. Or a side story)
DO NOT have Vegeta get SSG. let SSG be a one time deal.
BETTER OST
A balance of gags and fighting. BoG did a decent job with this.
Goku in his fucking Blue Gi
Let Birsu sleep and have Whis play a major role
Travel. Especially with Whis. Would love to have like the facts of life and more history of the Z universe. Whis seems like the guy for it.
On a side note. Does anyone think Whis could very well be similar to Vash from Trigun?
A very Unique villain(Birsu is not a villain). Something different.
Have Goku use SSJ2 in a fight
Have Gohan MYSTIC FROM THE START. Not a last minute change.
------
Now if this is going to be a trilogy. May I say. With the name Battle of Gods. It didn't feel like a battle. The title God and God works better IMO. So I believe the Movie 16 should be a War with Gods. Maybe Goku and his crew gets to strong? Maybe The gods are tired of the damage The Z warriors has caused. With that the Gods(Higher gods. I know they're gods higher than Birsu. I know it's a fanfic but maybe like Aladdjin from New age DB. That type of God.) are pissed and similar to the Christian God(I know DB is Buddhist) they threaten to destroy everything in the Seven Universe.
Re: What do you want from a DBZ Movie 15?
Probably a movie with a quest. Kinda like DBGT's first episodes.
It starts out with, say, Earth being affected by a huge natural disaster.
When they are to restore the Earth with the Dragonballs, they find that most are destroyed.
Dende makes new ones that this time are much more powerful, and because of this (or a reason someone else can come up with) they are scattered around the Universe.
So the heroes have to travel around The Universe with a new radar, using Vegeta as their guide (since he knows a lot from before).
Some of the Dragonballs have landed on planets with unintelligent life, but strong lifeforms in high numbers. Enter the Humans having to fend them off until they find the balls. Kuririn says some line about him wishing to be a Saiyajin since he would actually enjoy this if he was one. Tenshinhan is happy for the challenge, and Yamcha gets super confident.
One of the Dragonballs falls into a demon planet, which Piccolo takes care of.
Gohan goes to a planet with scientists, fighting against Technology (much like planet Plant).
Vegeta and Goku find the original Saiyajin planet and fight for the four star ball.
Kame Sennin takes the last Ball in an epic fight against space Turtles.
Quantity over power makes for no need for any new transformations, no need for a new super super strong villain and the quest makes a more fresher story (although you could argue that it kinda has been done with Plan to Eradicate the Saiyajins).
I dunno, maybe it sounds dumb, but IMO it would be nice to see.

Re: What do you want from a DBZ Movie 15?
I'd like to see the whole Z gang start traveling to other dimensions. Some of them are more gag oriented, some of them are more serious. They meet alternate versions of themselves, perhaps.
There's a lot of room for comedy, action, drama. Videl would be in her late stages of pregnancy so she would stay behind and maybe Gohan even decides to stay with her to protect her... which might upset some Gohan fans, but I'll be honest: End of Buu saga Gohan is the least interesting, though strongest, Gohan.
I really don't mind the idea of SSJ God Vegeta, mostly because the SSJ God idea, while not my favorite part of the film, did introduce something a I really enjoyed: A real, personal conflict for Goku.
Also, less CG. Especially if SSJ God comes back, that aura was... ngh.

Really? I thought Gohan(Boo) was the most interesting out of everyone in the Boo Arc. Would love to see him do some science stuff or have his scholar stuff be useful in a plot.KaiserNeko wrote:but I'll be honest: End of Buu saga Gohan is the least interesting, though strongest, Gohan.
A real, personal conflict for Goku.
.
Wish the movie use that inner conflict GOku with the form more like have Goku not fight as well because he didn't like the form. Would explain why SSJ Goku and Base Goku did better than SSG itself.
Re: What do you want from a DBZ Movie 15?
I may have said this before, but I'd love a One Piece crossover film.
As for in-Universe...I wouldn't mind a movie involving a younger Goku, back in the DB days. Or maybe, just maybe, a movie that takes itself seriously (Not that I'm complaining that BoG didn't. I loved it because it didn't). As in, a crisis that takes more than a powerful new technique/form to fix. Something that requires everyone to work together.

Really? I find both Kid Gohan and 10yr old Gohan as the least interesting versions. They were mostly just complainers and punching bags with the occasional rage boost that usually leads to nothing.KaiserNeko wrote:I'd like to see the whole Z gang start traveling to other dimensions. Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!

I love One Piece and all, and I know a lot of Dragonball fans do - but it'd suck. The 'Dream 9 Crossover' gives a real taster as to how something like that would go, and quite frankly, it's not worth making into a theatrical release. It's 100% fan-service and 0% plot.Big Momma wrote:I may have said this before, but I'd love a One Piece crossover film.

Re: What do you want from a DBZ Movie 15?
I'd love a movie that let Vegeta finally be the hero. I'd love it if they portrayed it in a way where even he is surprised. I'd also like to see Toriyamas idea of Goku and Vegeta going off to fight to the death on another planet somehow in animated form.
Also... I don't get thr BOG hate? It didn't have enough time to be a fully formed toriyama arc, but for 85 minutes it certainly crampacked the dragonball flavor. Bills/Beers is a fantastic villain and had this been an actual arc I think people would have felt it wss better. He didn't have enough opportunities to be legitmstely imposing. Had they drawn it out like in an arc... he would have probably been a menace more before arriving on earth with lots of time to build that threatl. Making it funnier when he arrives and attends the party. Either way I like BoG simply because, to me, it felt like a part of the series/manga and not a bland copy of it like most of the other movies did.

I think that, as long as it didn't take itself seriously, it'd be a fun project. Less like Dream 9 and more like Cross Epoch. Or even that special crossover from waaay back with Eneru.

Quite frankly, I would've liked to see an instance of SSJ2 kid Gohan fighting someone who was actually roughly a match for him, since we've never seen him truly go balls-to-the-wall.
But I doubt the timeline would regress.

Also, I would love for Goku to meet his father Rubber Duck at least, as he did with his grandpa. But yeah, he's probably washed out and reincarnated as some animal somewhere in the universe.

We can learn the creator of Dragon Balls and the rest of the Dragon Ball universe. Maybe there's more stuff about the Dragon Ball universe that we don't know about.

I like this idea, also I would add with some surprise returns(that no one expected), like Tenshihans return in the Buu Saga.Cold Skin wrote:I'd like Toriyama to stay as involved as he was on this one, cause he knows what Dragon Ball is like and what it's supposed to convey.

My surprise return would be the return of Android 17, it would make 18 useful again.
I would also also if Capsule Corp create drugs or something to improve ur strength(like in One Piece the drugs Hody Jones and the Fishmen took to get stronger), an idea that would make ....well.... the humans useful.....
Adult Gotenks for sure, and comedy gags between Adult Trunks and Goten...
One of the few ideas i liked was MajinUub, have him return , he must be at least as strong as Vegeta(with powerup)...
Re: What do you want from a DBZ Movie 15?
If the next movie is about the usual main cast I would like to see a movie where they are all defeated, not just in combat as people. A film that is even more Vegeta-centric with an underlying Piccolo subplot would be interesting, too. This way the sixteenth Dragon Ball Z film could be Piccolo-centric with a subplot revolving around another character.
