You already have those, you know.. GT Singles which have Dragon Box GT-like quality (Mike stated FUNi's source was different but still).BojGrass wrote:Tack on the Movies/Specials and GT then I'll be in Dragon Box Heaven.

Re: Are You in Dragon Box Heaven?
From what I can tell, Toei basically captured the video for GT off the original film-negatives, then gave that re-captured version off to international licensors, and also used that as the source for their remastering for the DBox. So yeah, the framing and colors and detail and such would be the same, but the video on the whole is not as clean on FUNi's DVDs. Also the encoding is less than stellar. That said, for GT FUNi could theoretically make their own re-master and have it end up literally identical to the Dragon Box, what with them working off the exact same footage that Toei and Pony Canyon was.dbboxkaifan wrote:You already have those, you know.. Of course the GT Dragon Box is probably the only one where I feel like I can really just say that Toei half-assed it. Like, we've seen clear evidence that they do still have access to the source-audio for GT (as later re-broadcasts have used it) so why the hell does the Dragon Box not use it?!

Hahaha I finely got around to taking a picture of my stuff lol

The Dragonboxes are like a middle aged woman who still looks good through simply taking good care of her skin and body with maybe a tiny bit of makeup while the Orange Bricks are like a middle aged woman who get's 50 tons of botox, makeup and plastic surgery in order to look younger and as a result looks even worse. ~ ringworm128

Ugh there was a Dragon Box 2 (described as being in nearly-mint condition, only viewed once) on Amazon last night for $140. I just got paid today and planned and ordering that thing as soon as I deposited my check, but I checked the site before going and saw that it had indeed been sold. =[ Had I known I wasn't gonna be able to get it I would have told y'all... lol. It's probably for the best because I really didn't have that kind of money to spend on a DVD set but you don't see DBox 2 going for that cheap everyday... Just check Amazon and eBay every day people and maybe you'll find a deal like that. Whenever I've got more money I'll see if I can't talk down a $300 OBO deal on eBay to like $200.

Ah, but I don't have those. Well...not anymore. I ditched most of my singles when the bricks came out because I literally had no shelf space left at the time.dbboxkaifan wrote:

Be happy knowing it went to a fellow Kanzenshuu member man.

I must have grabbed it not to soon before you planned on it. I was going to wait for my check also, but I noticed mt tax return had been deposited into my account, and used it right away. Funny how things work out like that...

I feel like the guys who don't own the FUNImation Dragon Boxes are new to the forums. I remember when they were first announced and coming out, pretty much all of us had them pre-ordered.

Nah, I've been lurking around here since like 2006. I was stoked when the D-boxes were announced but I just wasn't dropping money on anime box sets at the time and had no idea they would be a limited release.Jon Jon wrote:I feel like the guys who don't own the FUNImation Dragon Boxes are new to the forums.
