The bias is really showing with this one.
Are you a Kirby expert?

What is the "nerf" that's happening? What is this clear showcase of bias?
To be fair sir, I think he may be referencing the link above in which it was assumed that Majin Boo only has the power to destroy cities.
I believe it is in the opinion of most people here that Majin Boo at the very least possesses planet busting capabilities. I wouldn't go as far
as to say that there is bias against Dragon Ball, but at the very least I think I can understand where he's coming from.

No I am not a Kirby expert. The "nerf" I'm speaking of is claiming Buu is city busting level at best. Nothing about planet busting which he is clearly able to do. they mentioned Fighter Kirby and his feats, why not Buu?
Also, it seems they're using Mr. Buu (post Evil Buu split). He was nerfed in his own show, and that's the version they're using, thus the nerf.

My thing is, unless kirby manages to absorb and gain Boo's strength, I don't see how he can produce anything powerful enough to fully incinerate every particle of the Jolly Pink Giant.

Admittedly a side from Smash Bros. the only game I played with Kirby in it was Crystal Shards for N64. As bad ass as that game is the most I can gather is that if you stretched his abilities to complete maximum Kirby could only destroy like a City Block or something doe to a chain reaction I guess. But thats just one game so...

Honestly I don't know how Death Battle comes up with some of their matches. I mean who has actually sat there and debated on whether or not freakin Kirby could beat Majin Boo? (I mean beside what we're doing at this very moment LOL. Y'all know what I mean.)

At the end of the day like I said earlier, all Death Battle really is, is just glorified opinions. Even if some of there formulas for battle out comes seem full proof, I'm sure there's someone out there some where who could respectfully refute it.
It's not too late. One day, it will be.

I think that this one is more thematic. They're both round, pink guys who love to eat, so it's based off that moreso than their respective strengths.

I should note that despite being on the same site, the 'predictions' blog post was not done by the creators of DEATH BATTLE and does not reflect their stance in any way.

Well we may get analysis videos on one of the 2 fighters today. Also the ODBFB will put out a prediction which isn't always right. They are the research team, but have been wrong on the host's final conclusion.

Kirby bio. They really held back on the juicer details of Kirby. They'll tell a lot more, but from the preview if you only knew of Boo, then you'd still think Boo wins. Doesn't mean he will, but the preview doesn't give that much info on Kirby. It does give a tidbit about the warp star which if he can keep re-summoning with his own energy, he will always be faster than Boo.

I don't like how most people are calling Buu just a ''casual planet destroyer''... :problem:

Gee, this is going to be a tough one. Looking at things, I really don't think Kirby will realistically win this. One thing for sure, it'll be one hell of a battle. I don't think it'll be a curb stomp, but it'll still very much be in Majin Buu's favor. Let's just hope KIrby's death isn't too gruesome. Chocolate, please.

I see that some are confused as to what form of Majin Buu DB will use.

I think they'll use Fat, Evil and Pure Buu and have him transform into each form over the fight.

Oh, forgot about the whole form thing. If this was just Fat Buu, it may be evenly matched. Since it's Evil, Super, and Kid we're talking about.....Kirby doesn't stand a chance. I do wonder how they're going to justify those transformations, though.

Well, Majin Buu is a casual planet destroyer. A basic ki blast had enough power to blow up Earth dozens of times over. And when he actually get mad, he'll start tearing holes through dimensions and fabric of space and time. Hell, Toriyama himself that Majin Buu's power is immeasurable. Hell, Majin Buu doesn't even know how strong he is himself. So he can essentially be as powerful as he wants to be.

I personally don't see how Kirby is winning this fight.

Yes, but people are saying he's saiyan saga Vegeta level (which is nonsense).

When people say he's a ''casual planet destroyer'' their term means nothing special... :problem:

Some fan calculation based on the scene of Earth's destruction put Pure Buu's Vanishing Ball at red dwarf star busting level. All forms of Super Buu are of course in a different dimension than Pure Buu, and Fat Buu is around as strong as him. Even ignoring that, Cell is stated to be strong enough to erase the solar system, which is confirmed by a guidebook. The weakest form of Buu nearly killed someone about as strong as Cell with one punch.

He's probably referring to the Bardock special. Zarbon was the one who first recommended destroying Planet Vegeta because the saiyans were rapidly growing in strength.

Oh, and he can survive in the vacuum of space. All this stuff is just presented as the way Freeza is, without even an attempt at rationalizing it, yet the tone dictates we're supposed to take all this silly grasping at straws as thrilling danger. So I guess I don't really take the power inflation in the Boo arc seriously, but I don't take the power inflation in earlier arcs seriously either, so there's no net loss of seriousness. I think a silly story presented as serious is harder to accept than a silly story presented as silly.

Boo should win...

Although if Kirby sucked in Boo, would he gain any of his powers or regen abilities... Could be interesing. :)

Weren't Dragon Ball's characters planet busters at best? Because when you say Cell can erase the solar system you sound like he can erase the Sun also, which wasn't confirmed yet in the show. Well, Goku and co. have blasted villains through the Sun leaving it unscathed.

The thing is.. The Sun is a molten ball of fire and lava anyway so unless a huge chunk of it is somehow broken off, it'd be pretty hard to tell whether or not the star took any damage. Cell himself was destroyed on the Earth and aside from the crater created by the Kamehameha and a few earthquakes, The Earth itself was pretty much left unscathed as well. I sum all up to Ki control personally. If something as large as the a Earth isn't the initial target than it won't be destroyed.

Plus I know some people like to say Cell was lying about having enough power to blow away the solar system but in that regard I have to ask, Why? What reason could Cell have to lie to Gohan when everything was in his favor anyway. The only scapegoat the heroes had (Goku) was dead, Cell's only competition was not only crippled but on the verge of giving up AND no else at that moment stood a chance.

No. Mere planet busting was considered weak in the early Freeza arc. Pure Buu's destruction of Earth took place in a manner that depicted his Vanishing Ball as having enough energy to destroy small stars. Mostly in the way the debris were scattered.

Yes, he can. This was stated in the manga and never contradicted. It was later explicitly confirmed by a guidebook.

Every villain who was blasted into the sun was an anime only villain. Even if they weren't, it doesn't matter. DB characters condense their powers into small areas so as not to cause collateral damage and increase localized damage. This was explicitly outlined in the Cell and Buu arcs, and further explained in various guidebooks. That's why the planet doesn't immediately get destroyed when two post-Vegeta characters fight.
