Favorite thing about GT?
Re: Favorite thing about GT?
I'll have to add more later, but off the top of my head:
* The theme song.
* The narrative is more like the first animation. More adventurous, more self-contained stories.
* The battles aren't drawn out to a ridiculous length.
* The Black Star Dragon Balls. Reminds me of the Monkey's Paw.
* Fourth form of Super Saiyan.
* Fusion returns and is used more.
* Previous villains escape from Hell. My favorite Vegeta scene, hands-down, is when he destroys Nappa not soon after returning to the world of the living.

There is no Dragon Ball canon.

The end of GT was neatly well made, I actually liked goku's little spar with krillin, also syn shenron was a well designed foe, I just wish the other foes (and the other dragons) were made to a better standard art wise.
Goku's fourth form I liked HOWEVER I felt the series should had shown a gradual transition from SSJ 3 to 4 before completing it at such a saga, it's not a bad idea but the change from SSJ3 to that is too radical and sudden, if that was dealt with I think more people would had liked it.

I agree. The climb to SSJ4 should have been a whole story arc, considering how it differs so much from the 3 other forms.TheBritWriter wrote:The end of GT was neatly well made, I actually liked goku's little spar with krillin, also syn shenron was a well designed foe, I just wish the other foes (and the other dragons) were made to a better standard art wise.

Master, the batteries inside your Wii Remote are nearly depleted.

Well the reason it was so different was it wasn't supposed to be a SSJ form. It was supposed to be something completely different but for convenience they just threw it in with the SSJ forms as SSJ4. What SSJ4 was supposed to be we don't know but it has been confirmed it was supposed to be different and not at all related to SSJ.KameRule wrote:I agree. Going on hiatus. Too much stuff in RL to deal with for me to keep up with posts here for now. Was fun, hope you all have a nice day and future! Volt signing off.

Goku's SSJ3 had been shown to be easily handled twice, in addition to him having to control the Golden Ohzaru before harnessing it's power. I think SSJ4 got decent build-up. Remember, SSJ3 just popped up outta nowhere, too. Goku just happens to bring it out against Majin Boo like "Heh, now look at what I can do...!"TheBritWriter wrote: Goku's fourth form I liked HOWEVER I felt the series should had shown a gradual transition from SSJ 3 to 4 before completing it at such a saga, it's not a bad idea but the change from SSJ3 to that is too radical and sudden, if that was dealt with I think more people would had liked it.

This is exactly what I did not like. I did, however, like the color palette used in the Bebi saga, and some of the episodes were pretty darn good. And golden Ohzaroo was a golden ideagohann wrote:In light of all of the anti-GT threads popping up recently, I thought I'd make a pro-GT thread.
Personally, I loved the idea of their overuse of the Dragon Balls backfiring on them.
Really? When I watched DBGT, I only ever saw Gogeta ssj4 during one of the last episodes (it might've been two?). No Gotenks or any other fusions as far as I'm aware.Logan wrote:* Fusion returns and is used more.

The songs, Baby, Super Saiyajin 4 and the fact it continues.
Recently I also thought about how, if a Base Saiyajin really cannot defeat 4th form Freezer - if - then Trunks having a problem against a strengthened C17 is actually even more believable. But the thought f him being strengthened through the other guy is enough for me anyway.
Also, seriously - Freezer can come back and become stronger, 17 is allowed to do so as well.

Re: Favorite thing about GT?
Remember, nothing we've seen has indicated that Trunks (nor Goten for that matter) can handle anything stronger than Freeza without Fusion. Machine Mutant 17 beating Trunks was always within the realm of belief.Cetra wrote:The songs, Baby, Super Saiyajin 4 and the fact it continues.

There are people who think otherwise. Also the two boys did pretty well fighting 18 even if they were handycaped by the other. As far as it goes for me I have no problem with Trunks getting lectured by a stronger 17. And the one beating Trunks was corrupted 17, not clone 17.
