Seems nothing really changes for power ups these days.LightBing wrote:With this said, Super Saiyan God is a power gain without effort, just sit there and be the strongest ever. For that I dislike it, there was no emotion, barely anything worthwhile.
Was Ultimate Gohan ever a good idea?

Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!

Well, Super has another chance to fix the entire confusion. Just make it clear that going SSJ against Shisame is going to be a power up on top of the potential unlock. So, afterwards, they won't ever need to acknowledge the Ultimate power up again.
Gohan has that line in RoF about being unsure about turning into a SSJ, so, like many things in the BoGs arc, they could extend and explain that better. Some people assume that he got so weak that he lost all his stronger forms, even though that's never mentioned directly, but there's the possibility that Gohan's wondering about SSJ was just regarding his own lack of use of the form for fighting after getting the Ultimate power up. Either way, the single line in the movie leaves to ambiguous interpretations, but if Super extends that it should become very clear.

No, it's a bad explanation for sure... How could he lose so much power in so little time? It doesn't make much sense to me...LightBing wrote:If nobody in the manga said the form was eternal and later Gohan loses it because he got lazy, isn't that a explanation in itself?
Compare the form to Super Saiyan we barely got any explanation about it, just Vegeta laying the ground for it out of the blue. A few chapters later and everybody has it and improved on it. With the originals details being, one needs to have a pure heart to obtain it and not much else.

You talk like "Mystic" was a power up that everyone could achieve it was made for Gohan because he was build since the beginning of the series to possesses hidden powers and with Elder Kai's magic he could unlock all his full potential at once

I didn't say it was a good explanation. It falls in the same category as Piccolo outrageous power gains, when he trained with Kaio and for the Androids. Or Vegeta's recent mutated state.Noah wrote:No, it's a bad explanation for sure... How could he lose so much power in so little time? It wasn't said it's limited to Gohan. He probably would have the most gains by receiving the ritual, but Old Kai used it on him because he pulled the Z-Sword. So every character that is capable of such a feat is acceptable to receive it.

From BOG/ROF portrayals, I feel like Toriyama regrets have made Mystic Gohan so strong, in Buu arc.
A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.

Well we just got Super Saiyan 4 Gohan, so he at least got a bone thrown his way. I never counted SSJ3 as a bone since his Ultimate state is way better and SSJ3 is beneath it.Scarlet Spider wrote:Yeah, and for that he will continue to punish Gohan.FortuneSSJ wrote:From BOG/ROF portrayals, I feel like Toriyama regrets have made Mystic Gohan so strong, in Buu arc.

Re: Was Ultimate Gohan ever a good idea?
If Gohan truly lost the power up, would that mean he'd have to get angry again to draw out his hidden power? I know he's an adult now and has better control over his anger. Like before fighting Buu he said it wasn't the same as back then when trying to draw out his full power.
