Vegeta family > Goku family in terms of character development

When she tried to make Goku her slave despite knowing martial arts is what his life passion, tried to dictate how her eldest son should raise his own child, and pushing Goten to study in an arguably crueler extent than Gohan.

Slavery, really? She just wanted him to stay home and work, to be a good role model for pan.
Then when he already left she didn't care anymore, she just wanted to keep him there, with their family.

How is Goten's treatment worst than Gohan's? If anything Goten's personality in comparison to Gohan is what gets him this.
Gohan in the Saiyan arc had to scream at her, Goku in the android arc had to hit her through a tree, I mean come on. Goten doesn't
do that stuff, and it was one thing he got excluded from, for which he didn't even put up a fight. And every other fighter is alive and well.
Future trunks coming back isn't even a global threat.

And the Pan thing again, Hercule was trying just as hard, and when she heard Videls opinion she backed off. Nobody's gonna jump on Hercule
for wanting pan to be a martial artist champion like him? As if everyone has to love martial arts?

Wanting him to do unnecessary work so he can fulfill her own desires and threatening to beat him if he's ever caught doing his only passion in life sounds like slavery to me. The fact she only backed off the moment he actually leaves doesn't exactly paint a good picture.

Nor to mention working a dead-end job isn't anymore respectable than essentially being a god.

She was keeping Goten from spending time with his father and the battlefield for some dumb test he can literally study for at any time.

Gohan yelled at her because she said something about Piccolo (understandable since nobody but Goku and Gohan saw Piccolo wasn't a bad guy) and Goku slapped her on accident. This scene was just an excuse to keep Goten out the plot.

Chi-Chi wasn't shown agreeing or disagreeing with Videl's viewpoint plus Mr. Satan's desire for Pan doesn't exactly go against how Gohan or Videl were raising her nor did he impose his will on anyone

It's actually awesome how the whole Vegeta family developed to the better after all these years compared to Goku's.

Bulma is not the spoiled woman as she was before. He caring so much for Future Trunks right now is really nice... Best woman in the series
Kid Trunks seems to get some development now with Future Trunks around him. And he at least has someone with Mai besides Goten...
Future Trunks is still by far the best written character in this series. Everything about his character is not only understandable but also very well told.
And Daddy Vegeta became fro the cocky asshoel who cared about nobody to a beloving family man. He started at the Buu saga and now him seeing being so pissed at Black killing Future Bulma and beating Future Trunks is just awesome... Just compare his interaction with them to the Cell saga.

Now let us look at the Goku family. I will rule out Videl and Satan... Both are actually really good in my eyes.
Starting with Chi Chi... I think she is really one of the worst women I have ever seen in the manga. I simply can't stand her. Where is the Chi Chi from original DB?
Goten... I think no one cares about him. The only purpose of him is being a friend for Trunks. He has nothing unique about him and now in Super he is magically shrinking. Hell not even Trunks cares currently about him and he has not interaction with him.
Gohan... I think I have said enoug in the other threads... He plays the smart one but actually is the other... Dunno if he is the worst written character or his dad...
Goku... He is so annoying in Super. Yeah he is super strong and likes to fight people but come on... He learned nothing so far and still plays the overconfident person who plays with opponents and not stopping the problem. Once the earth was because of his stuff saved by Whis but now the same again with Black... And same for his "childish" stupidness which is potrayed in Super even more. I want some serious Goku back and not just the I want to fight Goku

Vegeta's family progressed as characters in the series (Becoming better likeable people) and Goku's family became stagnant and even regressive in Goku's case.

Chichi is still an annoying overbearing control freak (maybe a little less than in DBZ)
Goku is still a single minded ignorant overconfident glory hog, (it's even worse in Super)
Gohan has changed the most, from whiny kid to bad ass teen to Nerdy adult.
He didn't change for the better though, he is becoming a bit too comfortable in his domesticity and ignorance of his friends.
(not asking after the reason for Future Trunks arrival)
Goten is still a nice kid but with zero growth (both mentally and physical).

Bulma is still the same from DBZ, with the exception that she has become rather gutsy in some situations.
In DBZ she could act a bit cowardly sometimes while in super she's the one showing the most guts.
Vegeta has changed the most out of everyone, from cruel prince to caring family father. No one can top his progress.
Future Trunks is despite his apocalyptic upbringing still a great person who is willing to sacrifice himself for the sake of others.
He fights for a better word and not to satisfy his Saiyan pride or just for the sake of fighting.
He is the true hero in this series in my opinion.
He's also the first Saiyan who falls in love in the whole franchise.
Kid Trunks is still the same from DBZ but has a bit more development than Goten, he is a bit of a brat but a loveable one in my opinion.
He shows great compassion for taking in the Pilaf gang and caring of them.
