I haven't seen all of GT. I never realised it got that serious, I knew who died and all of course and have read up on it but haven't seen the series fully.

That was a pretty dark moment, but the saddest part of that clip was how Kurrin looked. When you see him from Z smashing the remote and then when he is on the floor, I never realised GT made Kurrin look bad too. I know he has to age and change and yeah I know he had hair near the end of Z, but heh it looks like another person.

Yeah Kuririn looks really different in GT.
I think that scene is one of the only cool parts of that series.

I never watched that scene; was 17 powered up or something? Because it seemed like he had way too easy a time taking out 18, even though they were around the same power level, weren't they?

17 had been influenced by doctors Gero and Mu. So it's possible that he was more powerful.

And yes, I'm using "17" as opposed to "Juunanagou" simply to avoid the debacle of earlier.

#17 was always stronger than #18. A title chapter in Volume 15 of the Viz DBZ Manga explains the order and relations of the Artificial Humans and it says the #18's power is supressed compared to #17's. That's why he often declared himself the strongest and was cautious in not allowing the entire Dragon Team gang up on #18, which is why he took down Ten, Piccolo, and so on, himself.

I would think the same applies to GT, still. He couldn't have been powered up at all, given what I recall of the events.

When Bardock tried to warn his 'fellow' saiyans, but failed, and then struggled to get outside of the building while having constant hallucinations, and visions of the future. I thought this was a pretty 'dark moment', afterall the whole situation was basicalli going to hell, Bardock was practically doomed.

I believe Gohan {Future}going to fight the Artificial Humans with one arm was the beginning of a very dark moment. It was already clear that the two were going to beat Gohan no matter what, and he actually tried to fight them anyway. It may not seem like much of a dark moment, but I believe it is.

I thought the scene where Cell absorbs that rich guy begging for his life through his tail is pretty dark. You get to see some of his bone structure and his face melt away. I also thought that DBZ movie 8 was always dark for some reason. I mean Broli's torment caused by Son Goku led to his insanity and eventually, death. And he was a soul less lap dog under that mind control apparatus.

Piccolo Daimao's announcement to the world that he was king, that he would pass no laws except the abolishment of peace and justice and order, and that every year, he would blow up part of the world until no one was left.

Not really, Piccolo Daimao is in between evil tyrant ruler and pychotic murder. He did make the abolishment of peace, justice and order and he did create one day in the calendar which he will destroy a area he chooses but that about it. Other then that, he is just a normal evil tyrant.

You basically just repeated what Thanos6 said, what do you mean ''not really''? Are you trying to say that it wasn't a dark moment in Dragonball, because I would say it was.

I remember "Trouble on Arlia" and it's almost comical ending. Vegeta and Nappa being praised as saviors and liberators of the entire race of Arlians and then Vegeta destroyed the planet. Saiyans don't take praise well I guess.
I remember that episode (Arlian). That was a pretty dark moment.

Krillin getting killed by Freeza was kinda dark. Not so bad, but pretty dark.

I mean, that the moment was not as dark as you described wasn't as dark as it really was. It was more a panicked time than a dark one. But I guess that what you get from watching DragonBall Z first... :)

How wasn't it as bad as he described? That's exactly what happend. The people's lives had been turned upside down, order as they knew it had been removed. Criminals orderd to be released from Prison. People living in fear, and scared of being destroyed. Sure it didn't last very long, but I would say it was one of the darkest moments to happen. Infact, the only other things I think are as dark as that is when Babidi shows himself in people's minds, or when Cell is taking peoples energys and announces to the world on TV that he would be holding a tournament, that he and everyone else thought was going to win.

Darkest moment would be future Gohan's death, definately.

Not only was 17 stronger, but I think it was a rather large difference. I used to think only a small difference but if you look at when Trunks destroys them in his time-line, after 18's obliterated with ease 17 still think he can take Trunks. That seems to tell me that he doesn't think Trunks' little feat was beyond what he could have done himself.

That's a really good point, I never looked at it that way until now.

I have never thought about it that way either, though 17 does have a huge ego so it could just be in his nature to think like that.

Right at the beginning of the Z series, when Radditz tells Goku to murder a 100 people in order to prove himself.
And the abduction of his own nephew and not feeling any remorse or fondness for his brother...man that's dark!
