It's sorta like "Earth-jin." In Japanese, it would be "chikyuu-jin" (hopefully I spelled that right.)

So is that the Japanese for "Human", or "From Earth"?

Hmm. What about "Terra-jin"?

But...why? "Saiyan" and "Majin" aren't spelt anything like each other.

Because "jin" was removed to make Saiyan, we just joked they'd take the "jin" out of Majin and make it Mayan. Lame joke, but we're easily entertained, I suppose.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think "Majin" is a word on its own, instead of "Ma-jin." Also, I think "ningen" is Japanese for human and "hito" means person/people. "Chikyuu-jin" would be like saying Earthling in English.

Doesn't "ma" mean demon? As in, "Ma Junior?"

Yeah, it does. But somewhere I heard "majin" meant magic or sorcery. I could be wrong.

Either way, we're getting a little off-topic I think. So, uh, boo censorship!

I would think maybe the change of Satan to H e r cule would be more of an adaption change, than purely a censorship one

What are you basing that on, since the two names have absolutely nothing in common?

I think he means because the TV version in America did the same thing, like how they changed stuff in a couple of the other Mangas.

But still... they didn't have a problem with Kuririn and Tenshinhan and any number of other things...

I think it may just be that its because the majority of U.S fans are more used to him being called H e r c u l e than Satan, most people watch only the dub, its a proven fact, much to the dissmay of most of us here. I dont know about the original spellings of Kuririn and Tenshinhan and all them though, its rather odd... I have no idea...

But for the whole Satan thing, we've known the man as H e r c u l e for nearly several years, and before that, "Mr.Savage" lol... but didnt DBZ in German call Satan "H e r c u l e" as well? I keep hearing that, but I've never seen it for myself.

All I can say is... people are weird (referring to adaption writers)

You also got to remember, Shonen Jump, unlike Raijin Comics, Animerica, or any other magazine out there that covers anime/manga is displayed at stores like Wal-Mart,K-Mart,Big name Grocery stores, and even Toy's R Us.
All of those you mention above are available at any Fred Meyer, Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Gamestop, and Target. At least around here.
Battle High 2, starring Kyle Hebert as well as myself, has been released on Xbox 360, OUYA, PC, Linux, Mac, and Xbox One!

Actually, you've been right on all accounts thus far. :) "Ma" can mean either "demon" or "magic." So it actually works either way (though it's suggested that since Bibidi and Babidi were sorcerers, he's closer to a magical being than an outright demon).

I knew it! I knew Ma could be translated as "Magic" and people said Viz translated Haku's Ice Mirror Jutsu incorrectly.

Yeah, I used to work in a Target store, and the only anime they had were edited DBZ and Pokemon. If they have changed since then, I don't know.

What soccer mom complained now? I mean, there's a reason why there's a Teen rating on the cover.

What next, Roshi drinking yet more 'Frothy mugs of water?'

How did Viz handle all the nudity in DB? And Paf Paf?!

It's all there, fully intact far as I know. My friend SSJ4Kain has nearly all of the DB (and half of the Z) GN's and he's told me himself they are completely uncut and everything is there.
