While a notable amount of Faulconer's tracks aren't all that great, I don't concur on this in that I feel the track dubbed with this scene didn't add a hopeful note to what was seen on-screen and was rather poignant with a wide set of doleful, raw emotions, which was quite necessary for the bleakness of the memories for which it is played. But then again, I feel "Mind... Power Ki" can't be beaten.
That aside, while Eric Vale didn't start out all that great, he was quick to grow into the role and became one of the better VA's. He added a certain ardent depth in tone that made Trunks sound both like a time traveler and a son who deeply and pensively cares about his father without a shadow of doubt, though he did lack the mannerisms and depth/intensity of ire Takeshi Kusao displayed on a couple of occasions. Nevertheless, I feel Vale's performances were, as an overall, excellent and laudable, and whilst I have confidence in him, these redubs haven't been bringing out the better qualities of the VAs from what I can garner.
As for King Cold, I never liked his VA and don't feel he's anywhere near Ryusei Nakao's interpretation. Daisuke Gouri was a fantastic choice for Cold, who managed to sound royal yet serious at once (while hitting the low-pitches well), sounded much more imposing, and offered a much, much better performance.
But that aside, these captures from the Season 4 set aren't looking all that great to me. But I wasn't expecting that great a footing to go off on to begin with.
