Do you think they'll do this with DBZ?
They already have. It's called Legacy of Goku (or alternatively DBZ Sagas for those who really want to cry).

In all seriousness, I truly hope they don't. DBZ lends itself to a fighting game; DB lends itself to an adventure game. I always felt that DB would make for an excellent Zelda-style game if handled appropriately, and it appears that DB:DS/Origins is being handled correctly. The adventure genre wouldn't really work in my opinion if placed in the context of DBZ. Pseudo-RPGs kind of worked on GBA, but they required tons of level grinding every time you had to cross one of those stupid barriers; a 'hack'n'slash' game in the form of Sagas could have worked, but it was really shoddily done.

Overall, I think DB is going to be good (perhaps even great), and if the Red Ribbon Army and Piccolo Sagas are not included, that can provide for two more games if the reception for the first one is sufficient. Here's hoping the English version is exactly like the previous DBZ games, which had *gasp* accurate lines and *shock!* swearing consistent with the Japanese version of the games.

Legacy of Goku is totally different from Dragonball DS. :?
And no...most of the games aren't that accurate.
DB DS is gonna have up to the 21 Tenkaichi Budokai.

The Legacy of Goku comment I made earlier was a joke, but I forgot to put in any indication of my intent; for the record, I know DB:DS is totally different.

As for the accuracy, I know there were lines, particularly in the latter two Tenkaichi Budokai titles that appeared in the places they should have appeared in the show. To briefly expound upon that, Freeza has a line about "Reconvening this show of terror" in the sub, but not in the dub; the game dub did (as far as I recall, though I might be incorrect) use that line.

Swearing and whatnot aside, are the games really that inaccurate? Just curious.

It varies from game to game. Burst Limit has very accurate scripts from what I've seen, but Supersonic Warriors 2 has an infamously awful English script, full of translation errors and typos.

I'm telling you man they do it to aggravate us. I'm 100% sure !
I completely respect your opinion, and I respect you. I enjoyed discussing this with you, even if I don't completely agree.

Hey, maybe I could do a guide to this game for Gamefaq.com. Do they just let anyone submit one, or do you have to register with them, or what?

Bah. Get outta my ass and let me freely express the minor inconvenience that is the title change to a game I'm going to get the Japanese version of anyway.

Hmmm.

Hey guys, I think the game's going all the way to the 21st Budokai. Does anyone else get that feeling?

Seems to be heading that path, hopefully these guys take a note from the LoG guys and add original content to pad out the game.

Why yes, game designers, I would like to spend fifty bucks on a game with so little content and awful graphics.

Don't use the lube either. I want to bleeeed....

You can't really tell how much content a game will have by how much of the story it covers. Legacy of Goku I covers the entire Saiyan and Freeza arcs, but is extremely short, while Legend of the Super Saiyan covers the same amount of time but is far longer.
